Polyx Raw is a great oil product for light colored woods
I haven’t used polyx Raw for my entire hickory vanity yet but I did test it by following directions on a couple pieces of scrap hickory and prepped by sanding 180 grit (I can’t find 150 grit, 120 is too rough and scratches the wood which shows up with this polyx oil) the results are gorgeous!!! I also ordered polyx original in satin but saw I can apply polyx raw first to retain the natural color, then I can almost top coat it with polyx original to complete the two coats. The polyx raw is beautiful on my light and dark hickory scrap, it’s almost like applying polyurethane because it doesn’t orange up the wood like oil products do but what is different from poly is Raw brings out the depth of colors and grain hidden in the hickory that I couldn’t see till I applied the oil. This is my new go to for all lighter hardwoods. It’s not too much white, I can’t see it in the grain except for a spot here and there on end grain but that’s because I didn’t sand well enough to avoid splotching. It’s easy to use and I’m amazed at how beautiful it is compared to plain oil based products. I tried Rubio monocoat in cornsilk and that’s oil product left a haze on the hickory, this Osmo polyx raw soaks in as it should and brings out the depths of color naturally while preserving that “raw” wood look.

Excellent oil
Perfect oil. Easy to apply, dries evenly and has just the right pigmentation. Feels and looks exclusive. Used it for a speaker build in Baltic birch and the oil got the wood qualities out while maintaining the whiteness of the birch. One star off due to high price.

Ridiculously small sample size
Guess this is for a dollhouse. Long wait for it and it's getting returned.
