It works as advertised. Brilliant device!
I did some extensive research prior to buying this item just like you.I wanted to know more about the technology to start with and finally decided to take the plunge. As I work in ICT and been exposed to technology for some time, I needed to make sure it did the job.My Setup:Property is networked throughout with CAT6 and I terminated all the cables and patch panel myself using T568B wiring scheme which is common and my preferred choice.Virgin Hub 3 acting as DHCP Server combined with a Netgear SX10 switch and an AC5400 V2 as Access Point.Hisense 50" 4K TV in the living room and a Samsung 1080P max resolution 32" smart TV in the bedroom.I'm also using High-Speed HDMI cables with Ethernet. What I needed:HDMI Over Ethernet using Point to Many so must avoid direct Point to Point connection. That means connecting the Tx device using a switch with a dedicated port-based VLAN or a connection through patch panel to avoid increase of bandwidth due to broadcast signal.Distance from transmitter to receiver is about less than 15m.Mirabox:The items were well packaged however I wished they used some sort of bubble wrap or foam to protect the devices. The power adaptors came with 2 separate 2 pins to 3 pins (UK ) converters (Travel adaptors). And the IR cables were also present.Setting Up/ Testing:It took me about 10 min to get it all plugged in including moving things around. It really is straight forward.Tx - CAT6 connected to patch panel / HDMI connected to VM Tivo box / IR located not too close to setup boxRx - CAT6 connected to network point (same as the one used for the patch panel for Tx) / HDMI straight to TV / IR located below TVI could see the LAN led flashing rapidly which meant that data was passing through however no video signal on second TV. Quick troubleshooting and realised that I forgot to set Tivo video output to 1080P in the first instance. (School boy error!)Still no signal, so I just unplugged the HDMI cable from the Rx and re-plugged it in then voila!!Everything is working as expected with no loss of signal or video / audio issues.Annoyance / Suggested feature:No HDMI loop through so will need to get a HDMI splitter. The one I had caused some issues. (Pixelated effect)Conclusion:The device works as advertised and does a brilliant job. It's also reasonably priced and therefore won't need a multi-room subscription. My advice would be to ensure you use the right cables to start with based on your current setup.

MiraBox HDMI Extender With IR Control and 3.5mm Audio Extractor Via Cat5 Cat5e Cat6 Cat7 Rj45 Ethernet Cable Over TCP IP UpI installed a high quality cat6 data cable between my Sky box and a remote TV approximately 105 feet from the Sky box. With a patch panel at each end.The extender worked well in terms of the picture quality (1080P) but the IR controller worked intermittently.Which meant the TV was stuck on one program and could only be changed by going back to the Sky box at the other end of the house.Because of the excellent picture quality, I ordered another one, thinking the first unit might just be faulty.Unfortunately the second unit performed exactly the same. This has caused me a great deal of frustration, inconvenience, expense and time.Hence my advice not to purchase the mirror box extender.I have since purchased a similar unit from another manufacturer, which is working perfectly with the added bonus that it was a lot cheaper. The MiraBox HDMI Extender cost.................... ..£74.99 free deliveryThe HDMI Extender by AMTOVLEU..cost........ £32.99 free deliveryEarly days. The new extender has only been working a week now. I will add another review should any problems arise.

Lazy manufacturers
I am using this device with a house networked with cat 6 to patch panel with an unmanaged switch. The picture quality is great.. it runs over about 30 metres of cat 6 with no issues. I have two receivers in different bedrooms which is good.My main gripe with this device is the IR blaster. For no reason at all the IR blaster functionality will completely fail one day, there is no trends or common time for it to happen, it will just die. It might take a day, month or whatever but the only way to get the IR to work again is to hold the reset button on the receiver. It REALLY is a pain in the backside. Other users have commented of the same issue and 3 years down the line the manufacturer refuses to comment, provide a firmware update or a resolution. Also, if your selling in the UK you should be providing a Uk power supply, that’s just good business. Not a ridiculously massive Europe adapter that doesn’t fit properly and the plug keeps falling out.Look for a different product that does the same thing in my opinion.

Kinda work, but I’ve seen better
So, it does what it says on the box, but with some caveats. To start with, when you connect it, it works ok. But let’s say you watched TV and then you switch off your tv and via the device IR extender, you switch off the item that send the picture to your tv, in my case a top box cable tv thingy, and let’s say that one hour later or next day, you want to switch on the Tv and the top box, you will see you can’t switch on the top box, because whatever you do, the IR extender doesn’t work anymore. If you unplug the power to the RX box for one second, and power it on again, the IR extender will start working again and will do so until you switch the top box again. Also i got a message SOUND INCOMPATIBLE, CHECK YOUR SOUND or something like this, but the sound works kinda fine, except that every 5 or 10 minutes the sound will cut for half second and then it will come back againI tried on my installation (top box downstairs, upstairs tv, connection on between the two with high quality 40m CAT6 cable) a different pair of HDMI over ethernet, also from Mirabox, the kit that doesn’t get the IR extender, and with that one I don’t get the sound problem at all, so .... I will return this system, stick with the one without the IR extender, buy a IR range extender and get a system that work as supposed to

Bin zufrieden!
