Inverter Mini Split Operation and Service Procedures

The book is very complete. Cleared up some troubleshooting techniques. Seems a little pricy but it is full of information. If your new to the field or just need to get some techniques clarified it really helps.

Bought this almost two years ago, and I’ve successfully installed two mini-splits at home: one 12k Pioneer very similar to the C&H models shown in the illustrations, and one 12k Mitsubishi. The book and associated YouTube videos gave me the confidence to do the first unit, and I referenced it a bit the next year to do the Mitsubishi. Excellent clarity of writing and illustrations, good editing (no glaring typos or errors as sometimes happens with more niche texts), and detailed step-by-step procedures alongside the “why” make this a great buy. If you learn well by reading and need to know the subject matter, I highly recommend this book. Photo shows pulling a vacuum on the Mitsubishi lineset after nitrogen pressure test and leak check.

This book is a must have in your library if you’re in the residential hvac industry. It’s very detailed and the bold letters make it especially easy to read even if you’re just getting started in hvac. Love the step by step trouble shooting guide and procedures. Craig is awesome, love his hvac YouTube videos also, go checked it out, I wish they made more textbooks, theirs pictures on every Paige. Just so much information.

They sent the book, and it came in good condition. Decent starting point if you're not familiar with mini-splits and want to get up to speed on a number of ins and outs. Good for students and techs not familiar with minisplits, but if youre already doing VRF/VRV you dont need this.

As I install & service my own mini split AC (installed 3; 2 Daikins & 1 Panasonic), I needed a practical book. This is probably the best out there, but it gets to be wordy. The basics of technical writings must follow the rules: -Clear -Corrcet -Concise This book didn't meet the last criteria, but again in the USA this is probably the best min split book.

Craig presents the information in a clear and easy way to follow. Step by step instructions for diagnosis and clearly defines the sequence of operation.

Excellent book on mini split installation. It compliments Craig's You Tube videos well. I have used the videos to help train employees and now along with the Powerpoint slides I can reinforce the concepts.We have a training lab in our facility so we can put it all into practice. Thanks Craig for all your hard work and dedication to HVAC trade.

Has everything to get an apprentice started in refrigeration. Use it regularly.

I took several days after receiving this product to read it through as a whole, then using the index to quickly refer back to sections I need. As an HVAC trainer, this book is a must have. The images alone are worth the cost. It is well written in clear concise language, and never felt the author was trying to illustrate their intelligence by using language that may not be easily understood. This book covers far more than just inverter mini splits. It also includes lessons on electrical circuits, systems delivery and testing, types of refrigerants, refrigerant cycles, evacuation techniques and practices and so much more. While noting there are better ways to do things with more expensive tools, the author does not shy away from saying that older methods are still ok, and how to best execute them. All in all a great product. The only downside to it is the spiral binding, which while it does make it easier to open flat to a full page, I fear I'm going to damage it more easily than I would a standard hardcover text book. I suspect a hard cover binding would increase the cost as well, and isn't necessary if treated with care. There is nothing else like this for reference material on minisplits out there. A fantastic achievement for the author and team!
