Stopped working after a couple weeks. I was using it with an iPhone and a computer. First started noticing the amplifier wouldn’t connect to the computer. It stopped identifying as a Topping and suddenly started displaying as a Bravo FW Update according to the kernel. Then iPhone said device couldn’t be used because it required too much power. Returned.

I have not yet discovered a fool-proof way to stop it from occasionally just not working with Windows 10. However, I know it is Windows driver related, because I can switch to Ubuntu Linux and it work with no problem.But it sounds great when it works, better than my Fiio Q1 and about the same, but not as warm as my IFI Nano (not black version). I have the Sennheisser HD 58X as my hardest to drive headphones. They aren't that hard, but sound great with this.

Manufacturer did eventually end up taking care of the situation admirably. Defective product. Reached out to manufacturer and explained product was producing variable performance randomly in regards to frequency reproduction and profile. It was as if you maxed out eq settings to brighten the high frequencies that varied every 5-10 seconds. There first and only response was to send me a new USB cord. Great. Problem is the unit is defective and that did not solve the issue. 8 emails later over a 3 week period resulted in no response from the manufacturer. I can now longer return the product to Amazon because of the wasted month with the shady manufacturer. I'm stuck with a broken piece of garbage with a non-responsive company in China who could care less. Run away. A warranty issue will not be covered!

Can't believe this stopped working in less than two weeks. Windows 10 all of the sudden no longer recognize NX2s. Multiple driver reinstalls did nothing. It also stopped working with my iPhone XR. Sounded great and boasted sound while it worked. Look else where for a DAC/AMP.

It sounds great at first I got the Black one and it worked maybe 2 months now it hasn't worked at all the screws came out and I learned never buy such a cheap DAC Amp with screws on each corner ,I am a fool

I agree with the positive reviews about this NX2s, and think it's a decent amp for sure, BUT it used to be 35 bucks and now I have finally checked out what I thought was cheap and cheesy, THE LUCID LABS CMOY AMP! Friggin' awesome quality audio bargain. DAMN!! Yes I have compared my 75 dollar Topping NX2s to the Lucid Labs Cmoy, and the Cmoy is SO MUCH BETTER! Seriously and at 40 bucks. Right now they have a sale on the Altoids tin for 32 bucks and FREESHIP coupon makes it 32 out the door. Im Vergleich - reiner Analogverstärker Topping NX1s zum DAC Verstärker Topping NX2s.Kurzfassung: der DAC NX2s liegt für mich klar vorne - und das gerade mal für 10€ mehr!Die Kopfhörerlautstärke war mir an den Handies immer zu gering. Selbst über Bluetooth existieren Grenzen, die sich i.d.R. nicht so leicht aushebeln lassen, wie klassisch über kabelgebundene Stromverstärkung (und nicht kabellos per Bluetooth).Die Lautstärke bei der DAC Verstärkung ist größer als über analog/audio/Klinke!Der NX2s funktioniert sowohl am iPhone, als auch an Android (USB C) Handies!Getestet sowowhl am iPhone 8s, sowie am Pocophone F1.Beim NX1s schließt man Handy und Kopfhörer beide per Klinkenkabel 3,5mm an.Beim NX2s kann man das auch, aber zusätzlich noch per USB Kabel vom Handy zum NX2s. Den Klinkenstecker vom Kopfhörer schließt man dann ebenso an den NX2s an.Klanglich vermittelt mir mein subjektives Empfinden keinen Unterschied - außer der Lautstärkenanhebung.Daher machen beide, was sie sollen - den Pegel anheben.Verzerrungen habe ich keine erlebt.Beim NX2s kann es z.T. nötig sein die Verbindung 2 bis 3 Mal herzustellen, bis sich Handy und NX2s aufeinander einstellen.Der NX1s hat einen Bass-Boost, der m.E. nicht so sehr viel bringt, sowie einen gain-Schalter (auch hier m.E. eher unnütz, da man den i.d.R. immer einschaltet, weil man gerade die Verstärkung haben möchte).Bei reiner Analogverstärkung via Klinkenkabel hat der NX1s laut Datenblatt gegenüber dem NX2s leicht die Nase vorn. Ersterer erzeugt wohl 150mW satt nur 140mW.Da für mich Ausgangspegel ausschlaggebend war, liegt der NX2s vor dem NX1s, wenn man die Digitalausgangänge der Handies nutzt.Der NX1s ist zwar m.E. hochwertiger verarbeitet, ist minimal kleiner und ist mit 39,99€ 10€ günstiger gegenüber dem DAC NX2s, dennoch überwiegt m.E. die Funktion!Weiterer Vorteil des NX2s ist, dass ich mit einem Gerät sowohl neuere Handies ohne Klinkenausgang nutzen kann ohne z.B. die Lightning auf Klinkenbuchse Adapter, aber eben auch zur Not klassische "Klinkenverstärkung" nutzen kann.Der NX1s kann nur das eine - Verstärkung per Klinke - Line In und Kopfhörerausgang.Beide sind ziemlich klein und lassen sich mit dem reichhaltigen Zubehör praktisch hinters Handy klemmen.Hierzu gehören verschiedene Kabel beim DAC NX2s: Lightning auf mini-USB; USB-C auf mini-USB; mini-USB auf mini-USB, sowie ein Ladekabel von USB-A auf mini-USB und ein kurzes 3,5mm Klinke auf 3,5mm Klinkenstecker.Die Kabel sind schön kurz, haben aber leider nicht die allerbeste Qualität. Bei einem Kabel löste sich die äußere Steckerhülle, die sich aber leicht mit etwas Kleber wieder fixieren ließ (rein äußerlich, nicht elektrisch).Mit passendem kleinen Täschchen lassen sich auch gleich die Kopfhörer mit verstauen, bzw. man packt den Verstärker in die Tasche der großen Kopfhörer.

Comparing this with my NX2 left me underwhelmed. Using all my headphones and media devices I could not tell any difference in sound, either as a dac or amp. Perhaps if I had not owned the previous version I might be more impressed.

Considering this is an amplifier I had to have it at full volume to hear it. After only 3 months since purchased it’s now in the bin as it would constantly not work with any devices, tried reinstalling drivers which worked for a couple of hours then dropped out again. A total piece of garbage which I note is now no longer available.

Spart euch den Kauf. 1m Ladekabel usw. Einfach nutzlos. Kaum Verstärkung. Ton verzerrt. Ohne ist besser. Spart euch den Kauf.
