A hopefully sound review of an amazing camera
Amazing quality, extremely lightweight, it's the perfect size for on the go use, and overall manages to exceed any possible worries when buying a camera. If you want a good camera and don't want to spend thousands on just the body, this camera is for you. I'm a fan of film, and I'd bought a different camera only to realize that it wasn't what I needed and then sprung for this one. I now have two separate lenses that accomplish the same goal at different distances, and this camera is absolutely stellar at recording, making it not just ideal, but a necessity for anyone who wants a quality picture. If you want good lens options, go with either the, "Canon RF16mm F2.8 STM Lens" or the "Canon RF35mm F1.8". Both are extremely amazing to pair with this, just make sure to buy a second battery (Canon Battery Pack LP-E17)(Image is a little blurry due to motion, the quality is top tier, you can see every hair on a person's face during photo mode)

Wasn’t impressed with lens
I don’t care for the lens it comes with. Pictures are way too blurry or had artifacts no matter what I did to the settings. So, I bought another lens and it seemed to help a lot.

My everyday camera
The media could not be loaded. Because there are several adapters for the RF mount I am able to use all of my lenses with it. OM, Nikon ai, EF, m42, etc. It is an APSC body but I don’t mind the crop with most of my lenses. I do also have a speed booster for when I need something closer to a full frame look.Compared to my R8 and 250d the R50 is the clear winner in battery life. The autofocus is fast and I have had no issues in lowlight settings. I do like that the camera has a built in flash for my pocket dispo lens. The R50 doesn’t overheat nearly as quickly as the R8 when filming in 4K. The maximum recording time is 1 hour so you need to keep that in mind. The other day I filmed in 1080 for an hour and a half (with a break to start a new recording at 50 minutes) and I didn’t need to swap batteries or let the camera cool down. The white also looks very slick. It makes me want to buy a white or silver lens. There is a 3.5mm jack for a microphone but there is not headphone jack and no shutter control jack. I have used HDMI out for a stream into OBS and didn’t have any issues. The image with all the accessories shows how the camera usually looks when I’m shooting. The drum footage is from my sirui nightwalker 16mm, a cine lense built for APSC. I love the way that lens looks on my R50.The photo with the wooden backdrop shows the speed booster that I use to get near full frame results from my vintage full frame lenses.
