Good value for money.
Seal was broken and box damaged and open on arrival. Used once and found it very good for strimming and edging. No line breaks at all. It’s a bit on the heavy side but once the shoulder strap (not mentioned in sales addvert) was fitted it became a lot lighter.

very good bit if kit
very good bit if kit. Just remember to use the retaining screw or the shield rotates around ! Shoulder strap useful in taking some of the weight but very well balanced and powerful. 10 m power cable usefully long aswell ( I have also bought this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0062GTL42/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) Have not successfully taken the spool out however, the instructions show it just pulls out but I haven't manage that yet hence 4 stars.

Great value and power for an electric strimmer
Very good strimmer, cut through my quite thing grass with ease, I like the neck/shoulder strap which you can use, the item isn’t heavy but it was a nice touch.

Best purchase
Having a large garden I’ve spent years messing around with petrol strimmers not starting, flooding, spools breaking so decided I would just try this with 2 50m extension leads and it has to be the best purchase I’ve had in years it’s extremely quiet no mixing fuel and for some reason the line on this hardly breaks which saves so much time messing around with rewinding more line

Design Flaw?
While strimmers increased in price, a bit like everything else on this crazy planet, they can still be had for around £35.This Makita, on the other hand, is twice the price....!?!?!"But you're paying for a top-class Japanese brand!"Don't worry Makita fanboys, I hear you loud and clear and this was my exact line of thinking prior to my purchase. So you can imagine my surprise whilst attaching the guard to find the screw hole blatantly on the wrong side!! (See Pic 1&2)With an overgrown lawn resembling a jungle scene from Predator, minus the 7ft alien hunter, sending the strimmer back was not feasible. The only solution was to take matters into my own hands, so with the aid of a bread knife and a steady hand I attempted to remedy the issue. Thankfully, the problem was solved by cutting further into and around the plastic, thus allowing the guard to be rotated to the screw hole, "et Volia" it actually worked!!(See Pic 3&4)However, glaring mistakes and QC issues are not what I'd expect from any company, let alone a prestigious Japanese business like Makita, although Seiko has been guilty of poor QC as of late, so it might be catching! The machine itself feels sturdy, well built and also includes a handy shoulder strap to lessen the weight of the strimmer. (Do you even lift brah?)Performance, as you would expect for the price, is stellar! The Makita made short work of the jungle, cutting through the overgrown grass was really fast, slightly faster than Usain Bolt and a shade slower than an MP throwing a lockdown party. At 96db it's not especially noisy and at just under 3kg the strimmer gave a nice mini-workout for the forearms. So without the glaring QC issue, this would have been 5 star product and while it's possible I just drew the short straw, I also expect better from Makita.

Good piece of kit
The box it arrived in was really beaten up.... however its a great piece of kit... i will probably get thicker cord for it after i use up the spool thats on there... however it cut through a pretty overgrown garden really well.. its only a small step down from a small 4 stroke strimmer .. definitely recommend it to anyone who is using it for home... not quite powerful for commercial use

The contents did not match the list of items on the advert
This product has 2 line spools on the list of items provided. A second spool was not provided. To me that was important as the line spool is quite small and it is useful to have a second spool ready when the other runs out.The strimmer works as advertised and does the job for which it is intended.

Light powerful great
Had 2 stroke trimmers in past the last one was beyond servicing so thought I would try this ..makita I thought are good make it's about half the price of petrol version..result was it strips really well it is a fraction of weight so is so much easier to use ..if you have electric supply anywhere close to lawn this is too for you
