KabelDirekt – Pure Copper Speaker cable 2×1.0mm² – 15m

My main motivation for getting this cable was the speaker manufacturer for my new front LCRs recommended 16 AWG for all short runs. I only had 18 AWG, and this wasn't expensive, so why not? Despite a handful of reviews mentioning the plastic getting stripped off when pulling apart the two cables, I didn't encounter that at all. I was able to separate the cables without any issue of the plastic insulation ripping. The first thing I noticed about the wire was that it didn't actually appear wider than my 18 AWG cable. That aside, one thing that was noticeably better was that each individual strand was significantly larger than in my previous cable, and in spite of that, the cable is still plenty flexible. I found this to be important in a good way because I've had issues with many individual strands breaking off, particularly when stripping the wire or attaching banana plugs. Did not encounter that issue at all with this cable and its meaty strands. After setting up one of my speakers with the new wire, I was curious to see if it would sound any different. After playing some music in Mono mode, I found that the low end mid range came across a bit deeper and richer than the speakers connected with my older 18 AWG cable. The highs were basically the same, but an obvious improvement at the lower end. I even asked my wife to do a blind test (she didn't know which speaker I connected), and she also picked the one with this wire as the best sounding one. All and all, this is a great copper speaker wire to get, particularly at its price. If you need new speaker wire and don't need CCA, just get this and be done with it. You'll be happy.

Highly satisfied with this purchase I've used a number of speaker cables in the past, and for copper speaker wires these are one of the best, if not the best, value in terms quality-to-price ratio. The cable has good shielding material, while being flexible enough to connect my speaker and amplifier through various curves/bends. I've paid more for lesser or equal quality, or at the same price point as the CCA products. Not sure if it matters or not for some, but these are well made in Germany.

Muy buena calidad del cable, es muy flexible y resistente. Me gustaria que la separacion entre los 2 cables fuera mayor. Medi la longitud de mi articulo y si cumple con la especificacion de mi compra. Si necesitara mas cable no dudaria en volverlo a comprar.

If you want soft, high number of strands, flexible, nice speaker wire, that is easy to separate spend $10 more on Knuconcepts speaker wire. You’re going to need scissors to separate the wires, it’s not very flexible and it doesn’t have a ton of strands BUT it’s dirt cheap, it’s true awg 16 gauge and it’s real 100% copper, not CCA trash. A lot of the wire on Amazon is undersized and CCA. Many of the sellers of CCA aren’t very upfront about what it is either. I commend those that are. It’s a fire hazard if you don’t know the difference. CCA isn’t allowed to used in the construction of homes. They don’t want CCA wire inside of your wall because it handles less current and might get hot and start a fire.
