The Man in Black: The Definitive Collection

My first Johnny Cash album was the Legend of Johnny Cash from 2005. That album included the early classic and some track from his later albums. The transfer from those early coutry Rockabilly to the darker, moods of those later recordings was a little bit too stark on a single disc compilation, therfore as a definitive collection, covering the period up to that point is a better formed compilation. Put this and "The Legend of" in a two disc set you have two disc set that deinfes Johnny Cash across all stages.The Man In Black has great sound quality, and once again you can't fault one of the Sun masters.

I've always loved Johnny Cash and was surprised I didn't already have all these tracks.After seeing a tribute act my husband also became a fan so I bought this for him (and me) and he's rarely played anything else since.

this is a great C D by a great singer normally i find a few songs that i skip over this was not the case thistime,the credit must go to the people who remasterd this C D,it sounds as if mr cash made it last week.i have not played johnny cash since i got rid of my radiogram (more years than i care to remember)andhad nowhere to play my old LPs. at this value and this sound quality i will certainly look at buying more of his C Ds. C H

There has been a lot written about Johnny Cash and his music. I am not a country music fan particularly, but some of Johnny Cash's songs had a genuine humanity that cuts across his choice of musical form. This album includes "Folsom Prison Blues", "I Walk The Line" and "Man In Black", which fall into that category. This album is very good value and includes some great songs from one of the greats.
