Dude this skimmer is great. I bought it for the sump in my 36 gallon reef and am beyond impressed with its skimming ability. Nice dark skimmate is easily obtained with very little tweaking and dialing in… 10/10 recommend.

The media could not be loaded. Out of the box. Rinse off.Go.The specs said 7-8” depth required. I’m pulling junk at 4-5 with it wide open. Dry foam.Insanely adjustable.Looks like it will fit in the Waterbox cube 20 middle chamber just fine with at most a sponge mod if your using their media but I haven’t placed it yet.I wanted to get a feel for the micro bubbles since it was a common down vote.The bubbles were negligible and easily adjusted out of the mix. Pressure equalization aided further with 1. a speed control on the silent as all heck DC motor and impeller. 2 a twist of the chamber adjusts water level gate. 3. Total Elevation set with a twist of a provided Philips screwdriver.At this price , if it lasts 6 months I win and with the decent build quality I love my chances.Worth it.Update: took one sponge out of center chamber. Fit like a glove. No mods.

Initial install is pretty simple, but make sure the measurements work for your tank. I put in Fluval M90 and it is very tight on the back wall.Hang the clamp, adjust the mounting height, don't tighten it yet. Then the body has a sticker that shows the water height, make sure you are there. Then turn on the pump, and the body spins to adjust the amount of water and the height inside the body. You need to fiddle around with the height and the pump power to get it right for you.The unit is super quiet, can't hear a thing. The overflow on my tank makes more spilling water sound that you can't hear this skimmer.We will see how long it lasts and long term if there are any issues

This worked fine for 7 months, then the motor died. No problem I figured, it has a year warranty. I'll just contact them and have them send me a new motor. I've been trying to contact them now for 2 weeks and no response. Despite the fact that their website has a chat button that says if they don't answer, they will contact you via email with 24 hours, they never answer the chat, nor do they contact you. Amazon can't do anything to help because it's a third-party seller. I wouldn't purchase any of their products because, if you ever need their help or need to file a warranty claim, forget it. You're buying their products "as-is" no matter what MagTool advertises about it.

Seems like there’s potential to be a great skimmer but the build quality was not worth the $75 especially considering it’s just a plastic tube with a pump. It immediately filled up my tank with micro bubbles and I could watch them blowing out of a gap in the chamber and out of the pump itself. Was relatively easy to adjust and setup. The clamp didn’t work that great on my tank, it seemed to want to lean backwards which made it hard to position properly. I have a standard 20 gallon tank, and it’s probably a bit too big for it too. I would suggest a smaller model. If you’re willing to deal with bubbles and roll the dice on build quality this is probably a solid option.

1:Skimmer worked great besides the micro bubble issues for the first two weeks then I noticed the skimmer pump started to whine. Took the skimmer out of the tank and cleaned the pump. This didn’t help. 2:This skimmer produces a lot of micro bubbles in my tank. I have to keep it between 2-3 on control dial to keep micro bubbles to a minimum. It’s very frustrating considering that I’ve owned over 12 skimmers in the past 20 years and never encountered this micro bubble problem with a skimmer with an established tank.Update: 8/29/2023Seller sent out a new pump and skimmer is working correctly. I'm still having a microbubble issue (I'll deal with it) , but at least the skimmer is quiet again. Thank you

I was sketched out at first being so cheap but gave it a chance regardless, it works really good and worth what you paid for, after a day or 2 my tank water was looking nice and clear

The media could not be loaded. I enjoyed the dual control and the adjustment clip for different heights. The design is pretty sleek, it seems pretty sturdy and the lid is very easy to get off for cleaning.It fits a innovative marine all in one, so it will probably fit most tanks. It would not fit in my jbj 28 gallon nano cube.Overall I like it as long as the pump lasts.
