Great Bread Machine!! Solid, quiet, & easy to use.
We did quite a bit of looking and comparing before we settled on the Cuisinart BMKR-400PC. It looks to be built quite well - Solid. It's easy to use. We would highly recommend. We have read all the reviews and have not found ANY of the problems some people have had except for the fact that the recipe that comes with the machine doesn't work very well as mentioned by another reviewer "Art Lady 2014". Her review was exactly what we found and her recipe is perfect and makes wonderful bread so I will paste her review below: (it's worth repeating - Enjoy!)When I first started making bread with the recipe that comes with the machine, I was very disappointed. The bread was dry and crumbly and I wasn't happy with it at all. So I searched the internet and found a recipe that everyone was raving about and now my bread is wonderful! I make several loaves a week and am very happy with the results. As far as the machine goes, I find it very easy to operate and clean. The only thing I would change about it is to have a light in the settings window. Here's the recipe I now use for my bread machine. Try it. You'll love the results.BASIC WHITE BREAD ~ makes 2 pound loafIngredients:1 cup warm water2 1/4 teaspoons or 1 package of bread machine yeast2 1/2 tablespoons of sugar1/4 cup oil (I use olive oil.)1 1/2 teaspoon salt3 level cups of bread machine flour.Put 1 cup of warm water in bread machine pan. Add in your sugar and yeast and let the yeast foam in the water for about 10 minutes. Next, add in your oil, Then your flour and salt. That's it. Now set your machine for 2 lb loaf, light crust and turn it on. In 3 1/2 hours you'll have the best bread you've ever tasted.

Very pleased; one glitch
Replaced an old Oster with this Cuisinart model. After a half-dozen loaves, I'm very impressed. If you're a bread fiend, the convection oven feature of this one is worth it: great, crispy crusts if you so desire. It's been flawless overall, at least so far. I'd buy it again. Looks cool, also.Update, April 29, 2018: After a couple dozen loaves, I still love this machine, which even makes a great banana bread. But, after a couple recent adventures with making sourdough loaves, which turned out overly doughy and really slowed down the machine while mixing, the aluminum kneading paddle seems to have been partially stripped out by the steel shaft in the baking pan. The paddle fit snugly when it was new. It now sits on the shaft incredibly loosely, with about an eight of a turn of play, and barely staying in place. Worried that it's going to come off mid-knead, so contacting Cuisinart for a replacement. Beware of this issue. If your machine sounds like it's bogging down, shut 'er down, because the paddle might not take the strain. Also note: Amazon is lumping all the reviews for the previous model, the CBK-200, in with those for the BMKR-400. I don't know if there's any differences in the machines; the 400 hardly shows up anywhere, including on the Cuisinart website. Just an FYI in case they've changed it.

Works great, NO burning issues.
I bought the BMKR-400PC, which, as I was told by Cuisinart, is the old name for the CBK-200, so they're the same thing. Only the name of it is different. That's probably why Amazon has lumped the reviews together. The 2 models looked the same to me, so I wanted to find out why the BMKR-400PC isn't really on sale anywhere but Amazon. You won't see it anymore here once Amazon sells out, unless you look on Ebay. This thing works great. I get a kick out of reviews that say that it burns bread, because I've had it for a week and made several loaves and have had no issues with burning. It's from human error. People don't know how to do a recipe and they blame the results on the bread maker.I love the pause feature on this thing. If you need to stop it from baking or simply need to mix up the dough more, you can pause it. One thing I wish it did have is the collapsing paddle feature. It's not a big deal to me but you need to reach in and take out the paddle when you're making quick bread, or the paddle will bake in to the bread and it'll fall apart if you try to get it out of the bread while it's still warm. You get your hand a bit gooey but the nice thing about it is you can wash your hand off! So like I said, it's no big deal, but I do wish that feature was on this bread maker. Very happy with my purchase.

It simple does not work.
I was so excited about this product!!First time i used it, it was fine, although i had it set on 'dark' mode, i got a nice 'light' loaf.Second time it was lighter, third time it was even lighter, the 4th time it was completely uncookedfrom then on, its just always uncooked and very white on the outside but cooked on the inside.i wrote to manufacturer but not heard back for 2 weeks. i will write to them again. If i had the choice i would have spent more for a bread maker that actually works.

After 5th use, it's making horrid noise
I did a lot of research and finally decided on this model of bread maker. There were a few reviews of a "clicking" noise that concerned me but it seemed to have a lot of solidly good reviews. I made one loaf of bread when I received it and another one each weekend since. Yesterday, with 15 minutes left in the bake cycle, it started making a horrible buzzing sound from under the control panel. I'd hoped it would quit after seconds or perhaps a minute or so, but no such luck. We had to endure that LOUD buzzing the entire last 15 minutes to finish baking the bread. Since it is not user servicable and I suspect it has something to do with the convection fan (since that would be the only moving part during baking that could make the noise), I'm returning it as defective. I like Cuisinart but I won't be replacing this one with another; I'll find a cheaper brand/model. I'll still give it 3 stars for the ease of use, all the modes pf operation, its looks, etc, and it made great bread when it was working. Without the issues it would have been a solid 5-star. If you get one with no issues as so many other have, you'll love it.
