Ekit Mdhek Multi Desk Hub With 3 Usb Ports, Audio Ports and Card Readers

Great idea
I've been looking for a 'substantial' USB hub for ages now - my desk is a mess and lightweight hubs get knocked about and plugging anything in is usually a two handed affairThis little hub is ideal for me - three USB sockets and a card reader all permanently situated right next to my mouse, forever!I bought a 60mm holesaw to make the necessary hole in my desk, and whilst it ended up to bit a tiny bit too big, a 20mm long sliver of Amazon cardboard makes a perfect shim. For fitting, the central hub 'puck' comes out of the outer ring by gently pushing in a couple of barbs moulded into the puck - with the puck out of the ring you can pass cables with big plugs on the end through the ring first - perfect for routing monitor cables and cables with big ferrite blocks on - the biggest single diameter you could get through the gap (with the puck in place) is 12mmDon't be tempted to glue the ring in the hole if it is loose, as you'll never be able to pop the puck out - the cardboard shim is working perfectly, although a few wraps of Duck tape around the ring would do the same job - you won't be able to see either once in situ.

A labour-saving USB hub
The problem with desktop PCs is that they, and their attached ports and slots, usually reside under your desk but this device is designed to remove the need to bend under your desk for plugging / unplugging devices. It fits in a 60mm hole and connects to two USB ports and 3.5mm audio in and out on your PC. My Win 10 PC picked this up as a USB hub so no driver installation was needed. The hub offers three easily accessible USB 2.0 ports, audio in, audio out and two slots for six common memory card formats. In addition there is a small gap allowing additional cables to be pulled through to your desktop if required.Having used this device for several weeks I have found no issue with it. The only minor issue is that when three high power demand devices (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, etc,.) are connected it can struggle to offer the full 12v to all three (but then again it's an unpowered hub connected to only two USB ports so it's expected)

An Excellent Bit Of Kit!
I bought 2 of these but they were the Belkin brand and were/are excellent at what they do. I say were/are because I am usually based in China and that's where the Belkins are at the moment. I'm back in the UK on a temporary basis and tried (but failed) to buy one of the Belkin products but they are not available over here for some strange reason.Fortunately I stumbled across this brand/product so opted for it seeing as I had no other choice. The goods arrived well within the time stated and I installed the unit within half an hour and that included cutting a hole in the table.Since receiving, installing and using the gadget it has performed superbly. If I had to complain about anything it would have to be about the USB sockets that have become very slack (it feels just like anything that you insert into the orifice just drops straight in) but as it has never let me down connection wise then I suppose I can't really gripe about it.Bottom line;would I buy one again? Yes,no hesitations!

Really neat little product.
Ok so this does exactly what it sets out to do. The quality of the cables and fixture seem high and it really cleans up a mess of cables. So I really like this product. I don't need a card reader so I haven't used that.Only two minor quibbles. The first is that the USB port nearest the headphone socket is too close if you are using an adapter (6.35 to 3.5mm jack). So effectively I can only use two of the usb ports. Other quibble is why USB2.0? Would have loved to have seen a USB 3.0 product. Those quibbles aside, the product is excellent.

Fitted fine in the hole in my desk
Usb / card reader works well but there appears to be some interference on the audio cables and my pc (I guess the cable isn't shielded that well, as it doesn't happen when headset plugged in directly to pc or if I connect this to my laptop). The blue power Led is very bright and I had to use Blutack stop it reflecting on my screen. Fitted fine in the hole in my desk, but I did drill it myself!

Very Disappointed
I bought this item 4 years ago and it worked perfectly so when it eventually wore out I obviously bought the same one but the quality is nowhere near as good. The audio jacks are very flimsy and I have to twiddle my headphone jack in the port to get it to work. Cannot be bothered to return it so will just but a different one

Overall a great idea
Got a couple of these in use now a couple of months, working fine and doing what they say on the tin. I note and agree another review that they use 2 USB ports to give 3 (but in a much more usable place). USB 3 would be really good most of our PC's can long since cope with this so it's a needed upgrade

Great little device
Great little device, has extended the range of the PC's USB, jack and card reader to the top of the desk now, within easy reach. If you're fed up with bending down under the desk to use either of these plug in devices, Save your back and grab one, make a hole in your desk and plop it in.
