Perfect for hiking the narrows at Zion National Park!
My girl friends and I go on a big hiking trip once a year and our most recent trip was to Zion National Park to hike angel's landing and the narrows. The narrows is an all water hike and the water is chilly. I bought this to wear inside my water shoes to keep my feet warm and they were perfect! I wear women's size 8.5 shoes and ordered the small size in this sock and they fit just right. They were comfortable and snug without being too tight, and were nice and thick. My feet stayed warm the whole time! Since some people seem to be confused, this is NOT a waterproof sock (but those do exist)! This sock is meant to keep your feet warm the way a wetsuit keeps your body warm in the ocean. I'm also an experienced SCUBA diver and I'll probably start wearing these under my fins for really cold dives as well. I can definitely recommend these for water hiking! Hope this helps.

If you are looking for Waterproof sock solutions, do not buy these.
If you are looking for Waterproof sock solutions, do not buy these. These work like my neoprene surfing suit, which lets water in and your body heats the inside water to keep you comfortable for awhile. (If you are fine with this for your needs, then they may be fine for you.)In my case of flyfishing or hiking (in cold water), I do not want my feet to get wet ever. Ever.I have now found another better solution, with over-the-calf waterproof socks and with hiking boots "vented"/water shoes and gravel guards.PS. These get a 2 star review from me since they didn't do what I thought they would do after weeks of research, which made for a bad day.PSS. These seller descriptions and reviews in all of Amazon always crack me up - with vague, poorly written specs and answers to most of the questions.

Best way to keep your feet warm in the water with or without a shoe on top
These wetsuit socks were the perfect addition to my trekking pack for a trip across Iceland. Having to cross icy cold rivers barefoot or with sandals is no fun and not safe. I paired these wetsuit socks with some water shoes and was solid on every river crossing. I stood in the river comfortably for about 5 minutes. The Large size was a perfect fit for my size 11-11.5 feet and they were low profile enough to fit right into my shoe. Incredible comfortable. I bought 2 pairs and my nephew was also comfortable with his size 10.5 feet. He used the socks alone to cross the river and did just fine. Highly recommended.

Performed well. Kept feet warm. Very durable.
Wore these on my 11 mile hike through Zion Narrows. They performed excellent! They kept my feet warm the entire time. Very durable even when scuffed up against rocks. They do fit tight, so if you have thicker ankles/ calves...they can dig into your skin. Luckily I am 5β1 and the small fit perfect. I did have to take the insoles out of my shoes - as they are a thicker material...but they made up for the foot cushion.

Size Down for a snug fit!
I'm an 8 1/2 narrow and I wanted something that would fit my foot better. I'm a surfer and I like a snug fit so I won't slip around. I used the size chart and it says I'm a medium so I got the medium. Yes, it fits but its not snug and there's still some room at my toe, so I'll try ordering the small (its hard having narrow feet!) These are decently warm but not as warm as my Billabongs, but then the price is way less. I'll probably love these for the summer but they're not warm enough for winter (I run cold though).

ok sock if in warm water
I purchased this sock because i needed to put a dock on the water in May when it is still chilly. I was in the water for 90 minutes, i would say the comfort lasted about an hour, then my toes were freezing, water did get into the sock within minutes, filling it and having large pockets in my feet to walk with. It was ok for what i needed it for, but i thought it would have protected my feet more.

Comfortable and warm
These are my first pair of neoprene socks; purchased for hiking in cold streams while in Utah and Arizona during November. They were perfect! Your feet donβt stay dry while wearing these, but rather wet and warm. I was surprised how comfortable I was wearing these with a pair of Keen shoes while trudging through ankle-deep water for many hours. I wear a size 12 shoe and the XL sock was just right.
