Lightweight, powerful and works for hardwood floors
Really pleased with this vacuum, I have mostly wood floors with a large area rug and one room with low-med pile carpeting. My parents have one of the first Dyson models that came out and they still have it, running strong after just having it professionally cleaned and maintenances once over the years so I figured I’d invest. I have a sunny apartment (read easily dusty), a dog that sheds a bit and my blonde fine hair seems to fall everywear . I wanted something enduring since most vacuums (Bissell and Electrolux stick vac) I’ve bought only seem to last one year and burn out. The suction is incredible yet it seems to be gentle on my hardwood floors. I am in disbelief at how much this pulls into the canister. Canister is easily to clean and rinse out. The handle telescopes easily and it’s super lightweight yet powerful. So far a month in, I’m loving it.

Packs power and is light as a broom
I have a Labrador retriever and if you know anything about these dogs, they shed like crazy...so you know if i'm happy with this, its for real. This vacuum has been spectacular, stellar, just plain fantastic. It packs power and fits in my broom closet. As light as a broom and compact for my apartment use.

Gets everything
First off,it arrived early by a day.Secondly,it took no problem with setup.Thirdly,it filled the canister very fast(up to the emptying line).Just doing a clean on my living room, hallway and catbox room.I vacuumed with my old one about a week before this.I was amazed how much it left behind.I have two cats that can track litter(unseen)on their paws into that hallway and livingroom.I can feel it when I walk at times. This got ALL of that up with the vacuum head all the way to the max position. You can see where the head runs after a stroke on the direction. It's getting down in there into the piles of the carpet. Most excellent vacuum.HIGHLY recommend this one!!!!VERY strong suction. It's a keeper for sure.Just be sure to have the suction head and vacuum body not sitting upright to get the brush to operate.Like if you were vacuuming. No levers to push or anything.Just light backwards pull on the handle.Slide bar on rear of vacuum head(brush area) to 'max' setting. This will lower the brush all the way down.Very happy with this today.

Dyson makes a great product- I think the suction is superior to any others
This vaccuum can really clean! Even on the lowest suction level, there’s still too much suction for my carpet runners. It’s pretty easy to roll it around. I don’t really like having to use a cord, but my other Dyson cordless just stopped holding a charge so I wasn’t going with another cordless. It wasn’t even 5 years old. I have a couple issues with the new vaccuum: the “tools” are a joke - they’re really dinky; and the “ball” makes it too big to get under things.

Junk
Absolutely a piece of junk!!! We had Dysons in the past and we put them through their paces. Well we are getting older and the small ball seemed appropriate. Lightweight ease of use. Well let me tell you it’s junk!!! Constantly and I mean constantly clogs up!!! Take apart and bam clogs again. Useless!!! I can use a broom and dust pan faster and more efficiently. Save your money folks!!! If you want your house vacuumed, call me and I’ll fly to you and rent a car.... trust me it will be cheaper than this piece of junk and I will do a better job with a broom and dustpan !!!! Save your money folks!!!!Disgusted in Texas over the Dyson smallballDon

Great vacuum
This is a great little vacuum. I’m a Dyson fan anyway. They are just great vacuums. Picks up everything with ease. Highly recommend.

So lightweight
We had the full size Animal. Bought this small ball Animal and it works just as well but half the size. Great for carrying up and down stairs. We don't have a pet so not trying to vacuum pet hair but works great

What a Disappointment!
I hate this vacuum more every time I use it. The canister is hard to empty and clean. If you have any dog hair, it clogs easily and since the canister is so small, you have to take the whole thing apart to clear it - AND taking it apart is not an easy task. The canister uses the same mechanism to remove it for emptying and opening the bottom, so you might accidentally open the bottom before you get to the trash can - I've done that. The suction power from the hose is nothing special, and when using the brush attachment the suction is almost none. I may as well just use a brush attached to nothing! I purchased this vacuum almost a year ago and finally got irritated enough to log on and write this review. My previous Dyson was a large ball Animal, and I wish I would have selected another one of those instead of this one. I picked this one because I thought it would be easier to maneuver around furniture, but it's not worth it.
