Unlike an ordinary tower fan, a Vornado 154 Whole Room Tower Air Circulator doesn't just blow air. Instead, it produces true whole room air circulation using V-Flow Technology, exclusive to Vornado. Typical tower fans oscillate due to a limited range of air movement, so you feel the airflow for only seconds at a time. With V-Flow Circulation, a high volume of air is continuously moving throughout the room, creating quiet, comfortable whole room circulation. The Vornado 154 Tower Circulator features uniquely contoured air outlets that create a wide span of constant airflow, without the need for oscillation. A powerful, yet quiet motor pushes air up to 80 feet. The 154 Tower Circulator features a sturdy base, an energy saving timer with 1, 2, 4, or 8 hour intervals, and 4-speed setting that allow you to tailor the airflow to your needs. The push-button remote control magnetically cradles to the top of the product, so it is always within easy reach. Like all Vornado Whole Room Circulators, the 154 is backed by an industry-leading 5-year warranty. Model is made for 120 volts only.

Es un buen ventilador, un tanto ruidoso , y al. Colocar en máxima potencia, no recircularlo el aire con mayor velocidad, solo hace más ruido.

Love my noisy Vornado 154
I originally bought one of these for my kids' bedroom. We live in South Carolina, and they go to bed before sunset during the summer -- so their room tends to be too hot at just the wrong time. The Vornado 154 Whole Room Tower Fan took care of that problem. As a bonus, we no longer need to need to run a Marpac Dohm-DS Dual Speed Sound Conditioner white noise machine in their room at night. The fan has four speed settings. The highest setting is wicked loud -- and crazy effective. It'd be hard to be in the room for too long on the highest speed, but it can cool things down very quickly. On the second to highest speed, the fan is effective at both cooling a room overnight and producing a decent amount of white noise.I measured the noise. On high, the Vornado 154 Whole Room Tower Fan generates noise from low 70s peaking at even 80 decibels. Second highest sits in about 62 to 64 dB peaking low 70s. Second lowest is just under 60 decibels -- right about 57 db. Lowest is under 50 decibels. So, if the white noise is not a problem, or might even be seen as a benefit -- this is a great choice of a fan. It cools better than a portable swamp cooler, amazingly.I liked mine so much I bought another for my office. I no longer need to hear co-workers chatter if I need to concentrate. Mine is NOT noisy!
Have had mine for two days, and I was amazed! I was prepared for it to be really loud, but it is NOT! In fact, on the highest setting, I would like it to make more noise. (But I like a loud fan to sleep with; this one wouldn't be loud enough for me on high.)I was AMAZED at the difference in temperature in my house when I got home from work. I keep the temperature up at 85 while I'm gone in the summer, and I had this fan on the second setting. When I got home, my son had turned it up to the highest setting about half an hour before I got home at 6:30, and I couldn't believe the difference in temperature! So far, this thing is fantastic! I really like the timer on it, too, it's very handy. (I've never had a fan before with a timer!) The remote works well. VERY happy with this purchase!

Ok, but not fantastic
I purchased two of these based on the reviews, but they are just ok...nothing spectacular. They are easy to assemble (just screw on the base with included screws), come with a remote, and have four fan speed settings, and four directional settings. My remote doesn't really work unless I am fairly close or almost on top of the unit. The fan does not move (oscillate), but I guess the directional wind comes from one of the four settings. The first two fan speed settings are pretty useless for any cooling, but on high speed, and using the 4th directional setting, the room eventually cooled down (about a 21' X 23' area). I still preferred my oscillating fan over this one. By the way, great for noise to keep in the kids room to help them sleep.

LOUD
This fan is loud! It does move the air but it is loud on the upper fan speed settings. The noise generated at the lowest speed is ok but the air movement is not so great. I would give it zero stars for noise level. I would have to say I am not impressed and shouldn't have spent the $80 for the fan. Oh, it does look cool.

Surprisingly wonderful unit
This is the first tower fan I've purchased from the Vornado line. I've had other air circulator units of theirs before, but never a tower. This was a surprise. We have it in our living room, sitting in corner behind our entertainment center. It does quite a nice job helping air circulate in our living room, which is exactly what we needed during the peak of summer. Now, we just keep it on low to keep air moving. The noise can be a bit much on high, but that's the price you pay for comfort sometimes. All and all, I have no complaints with this unit.

A mini tornado in your room made from a Vornado!
I have (and love) several Vornado space heaters so when this fan came up as a daily deal, I pounced. This Kansas-based company from small town USA knows their products. It is amazing this small unit can move as much air as it does--a mini tornado in your room made from a Vornado. After reading the other reviews about how loud it was, I was surprised that it was quieter than expected. I must have white noise to sleep, but this tornado maker is quieter than a tabletop osculating fan that I was using. Highly recommended, I want one for every room.

Great power!
This fan is very powerful! We have had it for over a year and it is still going strong with no problems. It comes with a little remote which is handy (it also magnetizes to the top of the fan). The timer is nice for setting the fan at bedtime. My only complaint is that it does not rotate. The fan is powerful though that you really don't need it to rotate. The settings can be very low to strong. It is noisy but great if you like fan noise while sleeping -it is a steady noise so you do get used to it. Overall I am happy with our purchase.

Very disappointing
Unlike other Vornado air circulators I've owned, this model does a terrible job of cooling the room. We set it by the screen door in the evening, but even when the air outside is beautifully cool, the air inside remains hot and stuffy. It's unusably noisy at top speed and unpleasantly noisy at lower speeds. The fan is sized appropriately for the room it's in -- it just doesn't work very well.

It's a good source of air circulation to enhance the air conditioner ...
It's a good source of air circulation to enhance the air conditioner in my home... However, if you are looking for something that will seriously cool down a room, you may want to invest in an A/C. But for a hot room that has no air circulation this will make you feel 5 degrees or so cooler on the lower settings. It can be a bit loud on the mid to high settings .. . I mainly use it on the lowest setting as thats all I usually need and also because of the sound.

12 inches of BULL
Disclaimer: I have no basis for any conflict of interest or bias of any kind. The true surface area output is only about 19 inches; the other 12 inches of grill area produce NO air output. This fake grill area isn't about bling or aesthetics, this is a FAN, and air exits a GRILL, and when 40 PERCENT of the grill produces NO AIRFLOW, it's difficult to imagine this is unintentional. I do look at CFM airflow, the number is important because it can help you determine the most efficient and/or quietest fan. For example, three fans with the same CFM: Fan A has 150 square inches of grill, fan B 200 square inches, and fan C 350 square inches. It is likely although not certain that fan C will be the quietest because it's moving the same volume of air with less turbulence i.e. noise. But most people do not purchase on statistics alone even if some think they do because obviously pictures persuade, suggest, and direct. When a product doesn't pass the smell test after the manufacturer is in to me for my time and money, they have met the contempt threshhold until such time as they remedy the issue.40 PERCENT X $90.00 = $36.00 RIPOFF

It makes alot of noise
I bought this because of the reviews and a deal it had going. Over all, I'm disapointed. Perhaps its not the right fan for me. Maybe it is for others thought. I find it very noisy. I have to turn the TV up with it's on it's Med setting. It does push alot of air out but I can't seem to feel where it goes. I think that's due to the spiral design. I was wanting something to push air directly on me. So keep in mind that this is loud and pushes air all over, not in one spot. If that's for you then perfect. But not for me. A bit disapointed.

Tornado Vornado!
We have a big vaulted ceiling living room/dining combo - that leads to a vaulted sunporch. It's HOT in those areas even with the air conditioning on. We set the vornado in front of one of the air conditioning vents and it moves the cool air all around the area. it's been a great addition to our home! Love the idea that you can program it for a couple hours (kids forget to shut it off if they leave the house, this way it will shut off at least) and the highest setting is POWERFUL. Definitely an air mover. If you're looking for a fan, maybe not your thing, although we are pleased with it for that purpose. It does not rotate, but the angled vents give it a good area that it blows on. Air mover - lovely thing! We love our vornado and got it for a great deal!
