This set of protective pads for your knees, shins and elbows is nicely designed and I love the carbon fibre look to some bits of it but even the large size is more suited to teenagers or people under 6 foot for sure.I like the fact they come in storage bag with a hanging handle on the top and they look really well made with good design features to make sure you can still move in them with ease and not feel restricted or like they are a brace.The knee and shin pads have left and right written on the front to make it easy to know which way round the go and this is key as they have protection for the outer side of your leg as well as the front. The knee part can move around and slide up and down allowing you to bend your leg with no problems or the pad moving around too much but at 6'2" the shin part doesn't even make it halfway down my shin. You have 3 straps that go round the back of your leg for adjustment and getting a comfortable fit.The Arm protectors are much the same as the knee ones, with left and right written on them and the elbow part can move around without too much movement to the forearm protection and while these ones fit a little better, I still felt a bit like I was too big for them.Overall, for £59.99 they are expensive but if they fit you well, I do think the quality makes them just about worth the price, a drop to below £50 would make them more competitive and better size options more suited for people to choose ones that fit.

I’ve only worn the knee pads as my bike jacket covers my elbows.. but the robot pads are as robust, would recommend.

Being a biker, I always wear dedicated armoured clothing for protection and as a preventative measure should I ever (hopefully never) need it.However, anyone that rides a bike knows that whilst wearing full armoured clothing is essential, it can be challenging to wear a full kit during the summer months. Therefore, I thought that during this seasonal period, I would scale it down a little and just wear the key bits of protection.Seeing this set was just the thing that I was looking for as I already have spinal protection, but I needed something that provides genuine protection as this does, level 1 CE rated and in particular, something that is specific for the elbows/forearm and knees/shins.The set is made from a hard shell plastic exterior and a soft fabric internal fitting for comfort.On wearing the set, it is all very comfortable to wear for both short and long journeys and what makes this set great is that there is a hinged mechanism on all of the joint areas, which allows great range of motion and is not restrictive in any way. However, this does not detract away from providing you with reassurance that you are being sufficiently protected, as the set feels strong when you have it in place.One of the best things I love about this set is that not only is it all fully adjustable to enable a nice snug customised fit, but once you have it all set up to your size/shape, the addition of quick release clips makes this incredibly quick and simple to put on and take off. This means that you don’t have to constantly readjust/secure it each time it is worn. This really takes all of the hassle out of wearing it and saves a lot of time so you can get on the road quickly.Another good feature that I didn’t pick up on initially, is that there is some reflective decals on the the sides of the front panels, that give an extra layer of visibility for night-time riding.For a level 1 CE PPE kit, this is really well made and gives you the rider a lot of reassurance that you are well protected around these key joint areas. The pads are lightweight and comfortable and not too hot to wear in warmer weather. I think that the set offers good value for money and I would highly recommend it.

I’m a 5’10” 230Lb guy, I bought the Large size and I’m using these to protect my shins while I pitch in Slo-Pitch Softball. The protection is good so far but I have noticed the plastic strap clips could be a weak point. They do fit my shins but are on the small side. The shin coverage is about 2” above the tongue of my cleats when the knee caps are in the correct spot and I find they slide down when I have to run for a ball. They have survived over 30 games this season without anything fraying or breaking, a few gouges in the plastic knee caps from the shale but nothing major.
