Works well (smart life) - needs permanent neutral
When I first ordered this I was going to put it in the dining room as the light switch in there is behind a door, it was only upon opening that I realised I would need a permanent neutral to supply power. The wiring in my house is new, it was done a few years ago but the neutral is (like most UK houses) in the lighting. That created quite a headache as there was no way I was going to chase out a neutral for one socket but then I realised I could use this in my loft. This actually worked out better for me as it solves a lot of issues I have with forgetting the lights on etc. Luckily the way I wired the loft means the existing switch could be linked to a junction feed easily and I was able to connect the neutral directly by adding this link. Now the switch doesn't work with Smart Life but does work with smart Things. Once you have set it up in the original Cosy app you can bind to smart things. For some reason the app recommended wants to access gallery and microphone? I don't like this so once set up I revoked permission as it was already binded this has allowed me to control with Smart Things It actually functions quite well, it's instantly on and off via WiFi. You need to connect it to a 2.4ghz SSID but as I have a router acting as wireless switch point upstairs this was quite simple. I'm actually very happy with it. I'm forever forgetting to turn the switch off in the loft and it's a hassle to get up and down the ladder to turn off, now I just load the app and can control it. It also means I'm not struggling to find the switch when going up there first too. It will require a large back box, you'll see from my images that the one currently there is too small. I've wired it for now to check functionality and make sure everything is up and running but will be swapping the back box later down the line. For me this is perfect and I'm giving it a five out of five as the switch works great. I like how it looks too and really like the touch function, this allows you to manually use it and it looks really slick. If you don't have a permanent neutral, you can buy alternatives but it isn't the fault of the switch if you cannot connect this. I think others haven't grasped this with their reviews.

Dont buy this
Possibly the worst product I’ve ever bought off Amazon. Maybe some folks can get this to work. But you probably won’t. It just does not work at any level. And we're talking a light switch. A technology that’s been around for nearly 150 years. Let’s skip over the crappy installation instructions. Figured that out. Oh, and for most UK switches, you'll need a spacer to allow it to fit in the back box. No. The problem is that it just won’t connect to my smartphone. I’ve tried connecting via 2.4 ghz etc. But no dice. To make matters worse, it’s pretty useless as just a regular switch. For reasons I can only guess at, it doesn’t seem to recognise my fingers as touching it. I never thought it would take two minutes to turn a light on or off.. Buy this at your peril. It truly sucks in every sense of the word.

Slightly oversized but works well with Siri and Alexa(echo dot)
Works as intended and easy enough to install, I didn’t have a neutral so had to add one in from the junction box, I’ve had a few power cuts and had works done where the power has had to be off, it connects back no problem after I realised the router takes longer to restart so if I flip the trip switch to restart the switch (not the router) it reconnects (2 minutes)

Semi-reliable wifi switch
Easy to install and looks neat on the wall. However, it loses connection to the wifi (modem only two metres away) at random intervals and the only way to get the app to "see" it again is to turn the fuse for the hall lights off and on again at the fuse box. As our switch controls the outside front lights, this can be inconvenient when returning home in the dark if the app has disconnected from the switch.

Switches on, but not the light
Does anybody know if this works with a fluorescent strip lamp. I connected to Apple Home no problem, and it switched on (light on the switch changes colour) Unfortunately, the strip light does not come on. Anybody else had the problem?

You need to ensure your lights will work with this
It may be that the product is ok but I couldn't get it to work with my lights. I do have smart lights/bulbs so possibly that was the issue. Also, the back is quite large so a large back box is needed which may mean (as I had to do) that you have to remove plaster from the wall to fit the unit in. I returned the ones I bought and resorted to ordinary switches for my smart lights and bulbs.

Do not buy in Uk
Not an easy install as you need a live and neutral. Misleading for uk.
