Q: Is this pure wool and 8 ply? I want to make pouches for the injured wildlife in Australia and it has to be.

You can actually get this cheaper through knit picks. Thus exact yarn was $2.50 through the company. They have more choices as well. It is 100% wool is caused 4 worsted weight.hope it helps

This yarn is our workhorse yarn and is not as soft as others. If you are sensative then I would not recommend this one. Thank you Knit Picks Customer Service

Q: I am looking for a "scrubby" yarn for body loofas. Is this a scrubby tough yarn? If not do you have a better option?

Red heart scrubby yarn might be something to look into, (I like using it for making dish scrubbys) I also mix cotton yarn in with it when making them so it's easier to crochet with.
