Faithful to the original, Wireless Controllers are Great
Excellent retro console with the added benefit of HD and wireless controllers. Dead easy to set up by connecting to the HDMI port. Haven't tried any cartridge games in it yet but with 85 built in, it's going to be a while before I get around to it.

The best Atgames Mega Drive to date!
After playing the previous Atgames Mega Drive in Hawkins Bazaar only a few days previous to getting this, I was unsure as to ordering it or not. If you don't know, the previous Atgames Mega Drive [81 games and Wired Controllers, no HD version] was not the best. It felt awfully cheap and tacky, worse than this one, had terrible slowdown on music and sounds in the games and as it had no HD, only AV, it looked disgusting on a HD TV so you really needed an old CRT TV to escape the blurred vision. It also had about 40 'fake' games inbuilt which were.....awful..This version however, corrects a lot of those issues. First off its HD and comes with the HDMI lead so problem solved visually. You can even turn scanlines on/off for a more authentic look on games if you wish. Secondly it actually looks like a Mega Drive, and although it still feels cheap and light it is the best looking version so far. The pads are light and not the best, but they function well will no lag unlike the previous Atgames wireless Mega Drives!Unfortunately it comes [well mine did] with a European power supply so you will need an adaptor [I used my shaving adaptor with no issues] and also it does not have an SD card slot on the side like some reviews have said it does, I even saw one on Youtube showing this off....which makes me think there are 2 versions of this....but they are not labelled differently in any way which is VERY odd...Onto the games, they all work fine with seemingly no lag, glitches or slowdown [the only one i had a bit of issues with in terms of response time was Chakan] which is great. The choice of games is so-so though. It includes Sonic 1, 2, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic 3D along with a few 'additional' sonic games from the Game Gear, but does not include Sonic 3 oddly... The Golden Axe trilogy is here as well as the first 4 Phantasy Stars and 3 Shining games which means RPG goodness is here to be found. Again though, this is countered by some glaring omissions such as Street Fighter 2 Championship Edition, Rock'n'Roll Racing and the Streets of Rage trilogy meaning some of the very best games on the console are not here, and with no expansion port to loads your own ROMs, if you want to play these games on your console you will have to fork out literally hundreds of pounds on ebay...not ideal! We do get Mortal Kombats 1-3 and Eternal Champions [which is still very hard all these years later!] aswell as the stylish Comix Zone too. You do get a chunk of the typical Atgames Master System games too which inlcude the still highly playable Alex Kidd in Miracle World and The Ninja. All in all it is generally very good, mainly hindered by the fact some of the best games on the console are not here, but people who own the SNES mini could same the same thing and they have no way to play additional games on those at all... I wouldn't pay the £80 though, it a bit steep for its cheapy feeling [mine was £45], but its all a matter of opinion really... You can have 2 player fun on lots of the games and it reminds us of how far games have come since the Mega Drives era so it is worth a bash in my eyes!

Don't bother
Cheap plastic case, flimsy controllers, game quality is hit and miss. Definitely not of the same quality and standard as the SNES or NES classics. You'd be better off building your own emulator on a Raspberry Pi for a fraction of the cost.On the plus side the bluetooth controllers are responsive. Although they are of poor quality and I doubt they would last under extended usage. Also requires 2 AAA batteries per controller.I can't comment on its ability to play original cartridges as I don't have any to try.Power is supplied by 5v AC adapter. This is a non UK plug so comes supplied with an adapter which also feels on the cheap and liable to break side.Packaging was the main plus for this product. The box it came in was well designed and put together. It's contents failed to live up to its exterior.

Excellent games console for nostalgia
This is a great machine. Works perfectly with my old Megadrive cartridges. We do have an old original Megadrive, which does not work well with new TVs, hence why we purchased this. This has a much better picture than the old Megadrive, and runs smoothly. 100% recommended if you want to tap into the that nostalgia vibe.

So so
Better buy the original version. Garanted is has a couple of good games but thats it. It does not play al old cartridges. Relatively good quality however too expensive for what it is

Great, hassle free console.
This product is what we expected. My daughter got it as part of her Christmas & is delighted with it. I had read some reviews saying the wireless controllers were poor but this is certainly not our experience, we have had no issues with either the controller's or the console. My daughter says she likes the retro console better than the modern ones.

A Good Purchase.
The media could not be loaded. Out of the box it's not quite plug in and play as the wireless controllers require AAA batteries (not supplied) and you need a screwdriver to access their battery compartments. This small gripe aside, once up and running it was pleasantly easy to use.The selection of games is good if not quite comprehensive and includes some Master System and Game Gear titles as well as a few shovelware titles. The built in games run fine with little or no noticeable lag with the supplied controllers although they do feel a little cheap.I tested the cartridge slot with a Japanese copy of Devil Crash ( the only cart I own) and that worked absolutely fine.Overall I'm pleased with the product, though rechargeable controllers and the ability to add more games would have been nice.I have noticed that a few customer reviews state that a U.K. adapter plug is not supplied but the one I purchased did?
