“The Complete Guide to Property Investment” is an essential read for anyone venturing into the buy-to-let market. As someone new to property investment, I found this book incredibly insightful and practical. It covers all aspects, from understanding market trends to executing successful investment strategies. What I particularly appreciated were the real-life examples and case studies peppered throughout the book. Great book for starting out
I bought this book as we're starting to think about our retirement fund. The book is a helpful guide that's very easy to follow. The chapters are organised by stages of the process, so that you can either read through from start to finish, or pick up the part that applies to your current position. We had already started our own research before reading the book but a) it was good to get a sense check on some of things we were already doing and b) there were things that we hadn't considered, that we are now exploring. The book is not meant to be exhaustive in detail or give all the answers, but it does cover the major areas in enough depth to gain a reasonable understanding and allow you to decide what could work for you and your circumstances. Even the tax section wasn't too hard to follow, which was a relief. At the end of the book there are also links to additional resources like newsletters and podcasts, which are a nice bonus and I've signed up to these. All in all, a really good starting point. Using the resources offered through the book/online has got us past the analysis paralysis stage. We're now pretty clear on what we want, what we need to achieve and critically, what we should be prepared to walk away from - so for us, the book has been money well spent.

Clear, Precise and Current. 5 stars
Came across the book as recently discovered Property Podcasts and PropertyHub / PropertyGeek as i'm educating myself more in property investment and having already been an accidental landlord for the last few years anyway.I find the writing style and language used to be very clear with excellent descriptions and examples. It is certainly a book that is structured well enough to use as a reference guide as well in future, when I just want to refresh my memory over certain processes and tips.I'd recommend to anyone looking to invest in property, and I would even suggest it to a first time buyer for the section covering the stages and stakeholdera involved when it comes to buying any property.Well worth the money, kudos to Rob Dix.

Really useful, easy to read information with additional resources
I found this book really useful, so far it has provided me with a clear understanding of the different strategies in building up my own portfolio of houses. In each strategy he will give you an example property with a website link to view, he breaks down the costs and figures very clearly so its easy to follow and see the pros and cons of each option. He also provides a link to obtain additional resources for anyone who purchased the book. This includes videos where you can see how he determines which area to invest in, how he calculates refurbishment costs and how he determines whether a property is worth investing in/what your returns will be. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone as its dead easy to pick up and get sucked into reading as theres no difficult complex language and is interesting to read. Would have given it 5 stars but as ive not finished it yet i thought id give it 4.

ESSENTIAL for anyone unfamiliar with the topic of property and specifically in buy-to-let
This was my first book about property investing that I bought and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It is well written in a way it keeps you engaged and interested. It gives a sense of positivity and encourages one to want to invest in property right now! The only thing is currently I still lack the funding but this book has been very helpful and will I'll use it for reference in future when I put the theory into practice.

Essential Read
It’s a great read this book! I’ve also read some of the other less complimentary reviews notably the ones complaining about torn or loose pages. Really? How does that fall at the fault of the author? Anyway I enjoyed the read and as a reasonably successful and growing property portfolio holder for over twenty years this book is full of valid points. Not everyone has the ‘common sense’ as some Reviewers noted unless it’s pointed out and I think he is right to state the blatantly obvious even if just for the sake of clarification. Basically experienced investors can draw comfort from this book in so much it validates giving credibility to many of the decisions good and not so good you may have made during your journey. As for stock market vs property? For me there’s less control, witchcraft and volatility to deal with in property (have one foot in one camp and one in the other) but what do know other than I am more than satisfied with the property’s performance and happy to leave it at that.

Easy but high value read to start in the property market
I'm a complete novice and bought this book to start learning about properrty rental. I didn't want something to heavy just an easy read that highlights areas to learn about so I become informed. The tone is just right for me and the small chapters made it easy to easy and follow. I've bought the Complete Guide and For Beginners books. Would recommend.

Good honest information in a field that otherwise lacks it.
I have been looking at a lot of property related resources lately and I have to say that Rob Dix (and his trusty side-kick Rob Bence) stand head and shoulders above their contemporaries in the same field.I have given a five star rating as I believe the information given is honest, trustworthy and free of the hard sell/self aggrandisement that so sadly often accompanies propery investment resources.

Good overall summary of UK residential property investment
I have a property portfolio in Australia, and I am considering possibly a purchase in London. This is a good overall book and guides you to their other resources online a podcast & youtubes which are excellent.

this book is brilliant - easy to read but really complete
I really like this book. As I am not a native speaker of English, I am very happy with the simple language of the author. Towards the end of the book the language is getting more exigent. So it was also gut for me to improve my English. The author outsourced the multimedia content to his website. That's great! You get some extra content for free. You find everything you need to start investing in properties. If you want even deeper know how you need more specialised books (law, taxes,...).I specially like that the author is so straight and simple. Many people become arrogant and become posers when they are getting rich and successful. It is a really helpful book.

Excellent book, very readable and specific. It feels like the author is really dedicated to helping you improve your knowledge in the field. Lots of very practical and actionable advice. The Property Geek podcast is also very interesting.
