ThermoPro, great company with a fatal design. But still THE BEST, BUY IT!
Big Question: why are there so many of the older TP20 models out in the BBQ wilderness and so few of the new TP22? The TP22 has a dual live readout. No waiting for it to switch between the 2 thermal probes. The thermal probes have a wonderfully long electrical cord. They work the same great way as the TP20. The meat type selector is a thing of beauty and then the doneness choice (rare, medium, etc) is simply a breeze. This is just a marvelous device. I just cooked some beef ribs and the gentle alarm beeps right on cue...it could not be easier.DESIGN INQUIRYOk, for you amateur engineering designers out there...I really, really need you help with something in the design which truly has me completely BAFFLED! Help! Please take a moment to look at the 3 photos...as you can plainly see, the front face sits at an angle. That means that when you place the front face upwards facing the sky, then that face sits at an angle. But look carefully at the photo. The "top of the face where there is writing" sits on the thin side. Whereas the "bottom, as you read the English fonts" sits at the thickest section...see photo. So, if I set the remote receiver on a table in front of me, with the font oriented such that I can read it (i.e. not an upsidedown font) , then I cannot see the front face because the face is pointing away from me rather than towards me. HUH??? What in the world is going on here? Then, if I turn the remote receiver around so that the front face's font is angled downwards so that I can SEE THE FACE, then the font is oriented upsidedown. Let me repeat, if I can see the front face angled towards me, then the lettering is upsidedown. Yes, you read that correctly!CONCLUSIONThis design is absolutely, positively the most inane, absurd design that I have ever seen in my entire life.I will keep it. I love how it cooks. But this design is nuts!

Probes failed after a year
Thermometer probes are not working accurately anymore. They are off about 20Celsius. I almost burn my meat.

A good product
Very good product. Used this thermometer in my kitchen oven several times now and found that my oven's temperature settings are pretty accurate and agree with Thermopro. This thermometer may seem confusing at first and the directions are vague, but just take a couple minutes to actually go through the modes and set temps/time and it becomes very easy to get the hang of it and understand. And make sure to really push the wires firmly into the side of the sending unit. My complaints are that the wires are a too short for use in the oven even when hanging the sending unit on the front door handle. Opening the door stretches the wire to the max and can get in the way of putting something in/out of oven and pulls the probe into awkward positions that can interfere also. The probes are actually both sharp meat probes so using one for the oven/grill temperature is the opposite problem where the probe is too long and tilts up or down too easily because it's too long and the holding clasp is too flimsy and doesn't securely keep the probe in place.

Great
I have been using mine from 2019 and it has working flawlessly … make sure to not use it if the meat is too cold … but everything else is great

Gets the job done ... but the usual flaw plus one
The usual flaw is:The probes can quit working if they get wet or they are exposed to too high a temperature. The first problem is the hardest to deal with, as cleaning the probes is a necessity, but if the water goes too far, bad things can happen. For this product, at least in the one I have, the on/off switch for the main sensor is too sensitive, so it can be turned on inadvertently -- and then the batteries wear out.And of course, it does take a little time (20 seconds or so) for these kinds of probes to display the real temperature of the food. Still, an invaluable tool for home chefs ...

Can not recommend this unit or manufacturer.
When I received this item the screen was cracked on the receiver. I called the number and was pleasantly surprised that it appeared they stood by their profession of superior customer service as the young man I spoke with said he would send another thermometer and don't bother to return the damaged unit. As I was receiving a new thermometer I gave the damaged one to a relative as it worked though it had a cracked display. The problem began in earnest when I received the replacement. First, the probes appeared to indicate the unit was a display or returned unit. The probes were unkempt and tied with a twist wrap as on a bread loaf instead of the nice plastic integrated holder the first probes had. Next, I got error codes no matter how many ways I tried to get it to work. So I called the number again, gave the same information but was told this time the first young man should not have helped me as they were not the actual company that had fulfilled my order. The number I called was the same number on the warranty card. After going back and forth I decided it wasn't worth the frustration and decided when I do decide to start using my smoker again I'll get a thermometer from someone that will actually stand behind their products. Not recommended!!!5

Awesome customer service. Had product for 2 1/2 years.
I originally bought this thermometer in December if 2017. I have used it many times and have long since got my money’s worth. Last week almost 2 1/2 years after I purchased the thermometer I realized the temp was off. I contacted the company to see if they sold replacement probes. No longer u see warranty the company sent out replacements so I could continue to enjoy this thermometer. Highly recommend this thermometer to anyone who wants an accurate system that will last. Definitely will buy from them again.

Bon-a-petit - Enjoy dinner
Excellent dual probe thermometer for bbqing, grilling, smoking. Ease of use is as simple as plug & play - select the type of meat your cooking + your taste level on the tracking monitor & plug the probe(s) into the meet, cooking, bbqing, steaming your meat and wait for it to reach the desired temp & enjoy. The range of the sending until to the remote works fine in any room of a 3 flr townhome. I got this on sale before Christmas and it was a great value. I'm now looking at buying one to give as a gift. Highly recommended.
