I just couldn’t put it down!
When I started this book I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did. This is the first time I’ve read anything for these authors. And when reading a new author can sometimes be difficult. So when I started it I didn’t think I would keep reading it but as the story continues I got sucked in even more. I want to hate Noah so much and Sky got annoying sometimes but I just couldn’t stop reading….

This book is just real......
My heart is officially in my throat. The story starts out sad with a teen boy named Noah who is losing his mother to cancer. He is such a devoted, loyal loving son. Then it turns a bit when we meet Skylar. She is a recluse who prefers escapism through creative writing/stories and fictional characters instead of engaging in real life bc she’s so sad & alone. She struggles with speaking her feelings and even more with dealing with them so she hides. Then there is her over the top older siblings Daisy who is the opposite in many ways. Yet I get the feeling Daisy feels as much as Sky does, she just masks it better by putting on a mask. They are close and Daisy is protective of Sky. Making it seem like maybe Sky needs her often in the story but truly it’s Daisy who needs Sky. The story of Noah and Skylar is frustrating, horrifying, sad, and beautiful. I don’t like what he does at the end (sorry for any spoiler). He could’ve handled it wayyyy differently especially after all this girl has been through. But hey, boys are dumb when it comes to being logical when feelings are involved. I just hope that Book 2 is a better life for Sky and a huge wake up call for Noah. He had better get those knee pads ready bc he needs to do serious groveling and begging for forgiveness. Skylar deserves the world 🌎

Love Sacrificed…
From the prologue on I was invested in this story. Noah with his dying mom was heart wrenching. His father soon starts a relationship with a woman who has two daughters around his age. He is furious and for good reason but since he can’t turn all that anger towards his father he starts to bully Skylar, his now new stepsister.I always know when I start a book written by these two authors that I have to wrap my heart up and shield it from the heartache that’s coming. These two know how to write angst, drama and yes sometimes love like no others. We watch as Noah and Skylar rotate around each other for a couple of years until the lines get crossed and blurred along the way. We see two young kids fall in love, one has a chance of a great future but is willing to sacrifice for the boy she loves. We see a young man sacrifice his heart to make her take the choice and her heartbreak is the only way he sees her ever leaving him behind.Ugh this was a pain inducing cliffhanger! But that’s what these authors do!!! They take your heart and squeeze it right before they throw it on the ground and stomp on it. I just know that the next book can’t come soon enough because I need my heart put back together after this.

Need book 2!!
I am going to give this 4.5 stars and round it up to 5 for rating purposes. CR and Ivy’s writing is impeccable they never fail to captivate me in their books. There was one thing that threw me off. I feel that you need to know this story starts when the fmc and the mmm are 16 and 17. This part of the duet ends with them being 18. I found that for some reason this was harder for me to deal with in the beginning.Overall i loved all that characters they wrote…minus one.. i don’t like her because she is the girl you are suppose to dislike, so they did their job right! In the beginning we find out that Noah’s mom has cancer. She passes away and in the time that follows his father ends up finding and dating our fmc’s mother. Her sister and her end up moving to the island that Noah and his dad live on and our story really begins. As stated before I found the writing to be fantastic. This is a dual POV and we get to see more then just the FMC’s perspective which is needed becuase i have a feeling I would not have liked the MMC as much if this were not the case.I really can’t wait to see what CR and Ivy does for The Girl I Once Loved.

Crying My Eyes Out!
I. Am. A. Wreck.I felt this story like it was carved from my heart. Such beautifully written emotions! The characters are addicting, and so unfortunately is the pain.

Loved It!
I'm not usually ever out of words. To say this book was excellent in all the ways a reader hopes is an understatement. I am anxiously awaiting its sequel.

Ok
The story is for angst lover. So if you are in a mood to read angst then this book is a hit, i liked the story but didn't like the character especially FMC, i hope she improves her self in the next bookShe has issues and that's okay but one can't love fully if you don't learn to love yourself. The spice is good too.

I’m addicted
Holy crap I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did, but it grabbed me and I was lost. Lost in a story that angered me, shocked me and had me absolutely despising our male lead until I didn’t.The investment I have with these characters is scary. It’s like a train wreck, you know the dangers coming but you’ll keep turning those pages because you need to see what’s going to happen. The chemistry was smoking hot, the spice factor was off the hook. But it’s the story that got me. Made me question why I’d enjoy someone else’s misery to be honest. But it wasn’t like that, it was waiting for her to stand up for herself and be this amazing woman she was becoming. It gutted me, my heart was broken for both of them. But that ending? Wow.Now I’m impatient for book two.

Tugs at your heartstrings so much!
Emotional from start to finish, The Boy I Once Hated will leave you feeling a bit broken at times, falling in love with Noah and yet wanting to throw your kindle and sometimes feeling all three at the same time. Your feelings and thoughts will clash, it'll tug on all your heartstrings and take you on one of the best emotional roller coasters I've ever been on. I've got a feeling that book 2 of this duet, will hit so much harder.I had sooo many mixed feelings about Noah, and I wanted to be angry for Skylar, but that boy and his pain is just another example of the tugging on your heartstrings. You can't not fall for him. I love the whole relationship and chemistry between Skylar and Noah, and I can't wait to see how it's all going to unfold. This book is extremely well written and thoroughly enjoyable. It was nothing like I had imagined, it was so much more, so much better. I highly recommend!

There is a fine line between love and hate.
There is a fine line between love and hate as Skylar & Noah are discovering. Their parents have remarried and they are now step siblings however they do not see each other like that. Noah makes Skylar's life hell through high school then he manned up and realized his feelings for her, This story was well written with angst, hurt and flashes of happiness and spice. I totally get how it ended, Noah was only doing the right thing because Skylar would not have left for any other reason than by having a broken heart. I'm not a fan at all of high school stories anymore due to my age but the time line jumped in a good way that didn't ruin the story. Cannot wait to see how these two authors get these two back together again in the final book of this duet.
