Excellent First Story
This story book is not new but is ideal for a first bed time story. Lots of repetition ideal for 18months +.

Simple but amazing
I remember reading this and "Spooky Old tree" over and over again. It is the "beat" of the words and the pictures that make it very unique and very addictive. I would spend hours poring over the pictures and working out the bears route. As the for "beat", I am sure that everyone who reads this will naturally read it in the same beat as I do. My 3 year old loves it; walks around repeating the words noticing little things in the drawings "why didn't they shut the windows?" and of course the story is easy for them to remember and a little scary ;-)

Still one of the best
This was my favourite story as a child in the late 1970s. Now, here it is, as perfect as it was then. For all the science of story writing, the old ones are still the best. Its simplicity, suspense and repetitive nature make it a favourite for young children.

Fun reading
Older grandson loved this as a baby bought this for new baby but wish it was hard back. They love all the excitement when read with enthusiasm

One of my favourites for bedtime
OK so Im 37 years old! It was a favourite of mine from childhood. One of the reasons I would run and playfully jump onto the bed so my feet weren't grabbed by the unknown beasts hiding beneath! It's a quick read and good fun to see who can remember the order of events backwards so that after their adventure the bears can jump "back in bed" at the end of the story.

Favorite book
This was the favorite book of my children, grandchildren, and now I'm giving it to great-grandchildren. My 30- year- old granddaughter actually had me read it to her and her 29- year-old brother on Christmas day, so she could record it. She said she could always have me reading that book to her. I cried, naturally.

An all time favourite book for young children
Our grandson loves this book as did our own children growing up. The repetitive nature of story has little toddlers reading the book along side you, whilst also developing early concepts
