Great compilation of projects over the years
I'm a subscriber to Shotgun News and a fan of their gunsmithing series, even if they don't always cover projects I would probably attempt. I can't say I've found any of the articles to ever be worthless, there's always something I can pull out of them, and there are many that are spot on to my interests.I bought this book specifically because it had the complete Moisin Nagant sporterizing series in it, a project on my "want to do" list. But there are plenty of other projects in this book that I will try, or something similar, some I am currently doing or already have done. The advice and information is sometimes slightly dated, the gun world has changed dramatically in the last few years, but it can all translate to current use.Overall, a book that should be in any amateur gunsmith's library.

Thought provoking.
I am an aspiring gunsmith and am looking for additional information on all things gunsmith related. This book has some great ideas in it for customizing/sporterizing common firearms. It is quite specific on the firearms included. I wish it had a little more all-inclusive ideas for updating/accessorizing categories of arms rather than just specific ones. And I also would like more ideas for small shop applications, for those of us who are just getting started and don't have some of the big power tools and equipment for the specialized stuff. But I liked seeing what is ultimately possible with some experience and proper tools.

A Ton of Projects!!
I've been wanting this collection of articles for a long, long time and can now throw away all the articles I've torn from the magazine. The projects range from the very simple - Cutting and Crowning a Rifle Barrel, to the incredibly difficult - Sporterizing a Mosin Nagant. But, with each project Reid Coffield goes into incredible detail about his methods and tools, while adding shortcuts and tips. There is something for everyone in here. Black rifle owners, classic shotgun shooters, semi belt fed fans and those that just want realistic wall hangers. 446 pages worth.Highly, highly recommend. The price for the book was worth it for me, just to have one of the articles in a series that I missed. Everything else is bonus.

Good information in every article
As my headline states, every article contains good information. One thing that I appreciate about the project articles in Shotgun News, particularly those dealing with surplus guns is that they pertain to guns that are currently available through Shotgun News. Right now the Soviet designs are plentiful. I'm not a big fan of soviet weapons but a lot of the information will translate to whatever you are interested in. I would love to see a compilation of articles from years ago dealing with the various Mausers and the 1888 Commission Rifle.

Good articles but limited application to what's available today
An Okay collection of articles, but many involve working on firearms that are no longer affordable, or even available. A nice look into projects from the past but only a few are applicable to the hobbyist with a limited budget. If only those Martini's were still available on the cheap...

Valuable rollup of SGN Projects
I'd been wanting to build several of the SGN projects - but not being an active subscriber didn't have all the issues - and didn't want to spend $20 or so to acquire all the back issues for any given project. All of the interesting (to me) projects are captured in this book in their entirety as well as a number of other interesting projects. So for the cost of this book you have all the projects from all the noted Shotgun News issues of recent history.

Worth It
Great book with plenty of compiled articles for gunsmithing projects. While many of them are far and beyond above my capability (experience, equipment, etc), there are also plenty of other little side projects and things that make you think, "Hm, maybe I could give that a try." Also, very fun to browse through and see some of the great work done by others.

Very Good Collection Of Past Articles
It is great to have all of these articles in one volume. I had several file folders full of articles pulled from Shotgun News. Was actually considering scanning them to make sure I had these in a safe place. Now...I have a book. Some of the projects are simple, others...read...reread...and then read again to make sure you understand the process before attempting any of these. Recommend this to any gun enthusiast library.

Gunsmithing Projects book Review!!
Not for newbies, But I really like the book, some project were not in my expertise range and all projects were not within Canadian gun laws, but, I will keep trying and practising!
