Hotpoint Multi-Functional Kitchen Machine, 400 Watt, Silver

I had this for a month now. Made loads of bread, no problem with quite dense, leavened continental loaves.It manages dough for the two loaves, weighing 2lb each. The dough sometimes walks up the hook, but never got over and inside as the sleeve stops it, very easy to pull it down though, back to the bowl. Made a big batch of whipped cream with whisk, over 1 litre at once, with no splashing.Used the beater also, very good for mixing cakes, but if your recipe states to beat the eggs with sugar and then add the rest of ingredients, it is better to use whisk first to beat the eggs fluffy and then swap to the beater. I would rather use the hand mixer for this as can use beaters from the beginning o the end. Unfortunately, the beater here mixes very well, but the egg mixture does not incorporate air in the process so it is rather slimey than fluffy.I bought it mainly for bread, especially it would mix dough for 2 large loaves. For dense bread dough the speed 1 is enough, for lighter bread it can go up to 2/3. I would recommend it for somebody who wants to make larger quantities as the 5 litre bowl is quite massive.The bowl is very sturdy and heavy duty, dishwasher friendly. The hook and beater are iron covered with white enamel (careful as it may come off if dropped or bashed about), whisk is steel. I do not put them in the dishwasher.For 400 Watt it is quite good heavy duty mixer, price was a steal off Amazon Warehouse (below £50). There is a led light above the bowl so you can see what is going on inside.

I have now used the machine for cookie and bread making, and can write a short review. What I like best in without doubt the bowl. It is amazing! It is so beautiful and so solid, and the two handles are actually not only for decoration, but make it easier to clean the bowl and to remove it from the machine. I also like the scraper. It is very solid in hard plastic, and can both be used as a scraper and a knife. The scraper is perfect for me, and a true multifunctional scraper because it is so hard! The light in the bowl when the machine is on is very nice. In total, the design is fabulous! The hook, flat beater and whisk looks very solid in full metal (no plastic). The hook and the beater are beautiful in white, and easy to clean.The mixer is not noiseless, but not extremely noisy either. It is not as noisy as my old crappy stand mixer, but apart from that I have nothin to compare the noise with.On the negative side, I actually had a problem with the dough creeping up the hook and over the large ring on top. I guess I maybe filled the machine up with too much flour. The ring does stop the dough from creeping effectively, but it once made it over it and up to where the hook is attached.When kneading dough for three loafs of bread the mixer does not jump around on the table at all. It sits very sturdy on the table and there is no need to hold the machine to prevent it from falling to the floor. Mine sat on at table on top of a table cloth, and still did not at all move anywhere. I am very pleased with that.I have not used the machine very much, because I do not bake every day. But I am sure this Hotpoint stand mixer is a real bargain, and that it is very hard to find anything better for this low price of 99 GBP.Why I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because I would have preferred the mixer to be more silent. Maybe it actually is more silent than for example a Kitchenaid, I do not know. And I would like it to knead large batches without any dough creeping up the hook. I do not know if that is possible either.Considering the price, I will give it 4,5 stars.

I bought it for Christmas 2017. It looks very good and it is quality made. My wife uses it several times a week to knead the dough and break the creams. The mixer is heavy and does not walk over the counter while stirring a dough. Works flawlessly. My wife is very pleased.

Love using my kitchen aid. Ingredients mix well. Bowl locks into place
