The instructions are not clear at all, I had to find a video online about how to do the "finger knitting" method. I got this for myself as a beginners kit, but I think it's a bit expensive just for that - you're better off buying some standard yarn, some matching needles and use YouTube videos for the how-tos. However the pinks are a sweet colour for a girl, and the kit would be a nice gift for a crafty tween. The included needles are 6mm and wooden so those are nice. Could be a nice gift if on sale, it's a bit expensive at full price for what it is I think.Update: While making the scarf, the yarn - which isn't real yarn, more like long strips of felt - kept coming apart in my hands. I'm not exactly Mrs Hulk and yet I managed to break it with my bare hands just trying to pull it a bit tighter. Poor quality and not worth it, I revise my earlier opinion, not worth £25 and not good enough quality for a gift.

Nice gift for someone. Lovely wool.The instructions are not very good though but there's an option to download more off the internet. The needles are solid wood and about 6mm. And there's a little attachment for the needle so you don't lose count as to how many stitches you've stitched.It's definitely worth the money but kids would need an adult to help if they're getting this as a beginner set.

My daughter loved it and is learning to knit as a hobby now.
