Could be good but......
Got off to a bad start by recieving a box which had clearly been opened and interfered with! The unit seemed to be in working order so decided to try it out. The audio and image quality seem good on the surface. I was suffering with glare but thought it could have just been a matter of setting up the optics. It's a shame as the comfort is ok and sound pretty good - possibly a bit quiet. 3D video playback was impressive. After giving it a few days I have decided to stop using it and return it when I get home later this week as I feel there is dust in the optics which is preventing getting a perfect image. My VR headsets (even my oldest one) hasn't got dust in the optics but they are very well sealed.

Awesome technology but...
As mentioned in other reviews, build quality matches image’s quality, I was surprised not seeing a pixel! Compared to Oculus for example, quality is on a different, higher level. It really feels like being in front of a high definition screen, colours are vivid and watching a movie is really enjoyable, even in 3D.So, five stars so far. But then..The first star left because there’s no storage, (or any other type of connection beside HDMI), so you have to hook a player to Glyph, at some point you'll need an external battery.. ending up with a chain of devices, just to watch a movie. It would be great to have a simple player with some storage integrated. The second star left my review because of audio connectivity. While these are advertised to have a "audio mode", you'll unlikely use them as headphones - despite the headphones shape. They are bulky and uncomfortable and, most importantly, to listen to your music you have to turn them off (!) and use a jack. So no Bluetooth either, which is available but used only to connect to the companion app to monitor the headset's battery from your phone (!).A great piece of technology, the picture quality is just awesome and still is after 6 years compared to other devices but I think that it's too tricky to use, and it’s missing some important features like storage and Bluetooth audio. I know this came out around 2016, but these features were already widely available at the time, so that's not a justification.

Few major cons preventing it from being nearly perfect
Pros: - Build Quality top notch - Despite being 720p, picture is crystal clear. If fed HD video, there is zero pixelation (due to the technology used). I am preceptive but could not tell if it were 1080p instead. I have Goovis G2 which has 1080p display which is hardly better. - Sound Quality very good - Lots of adjustments to make make it comfortableCons:- heavy, despite multiple adjustments, I could not get comfy to use it for more than 1, max 2 hours. Weighs around 400g, comfy would have been around 200 something, which is what the Goovis G2 Cinego is. - Nose pad, though multiple included, are not very comfortable and cant take the weight well, resulting in your nose starting to hurt after a few minutes. I use mine without any nose pad at all and adjusting the unit in a way that it stays just above my nose, takes a lot of patience to get it just right.- Despite the fact that the sound is very good, drivers are by Harman Kardon, the volume is not high enough. Does not use the potential of the 50mm drivers.- The HDMI cable jack is at a very impractical place if you plan to life flat and watch, which makes this a lot more comfortable. The cable will touch the pillow or whatever you are resting your head on, putting pressure on the jack, which may break eventually. The jack should have been position completely down, 6 PM location , right now it is at 4 PM.If you can get past the cons, the device is unique and remarkable. I will definitely buy the next iteration, if Avegant ever release it with improvements.
