According to the Kreg charts that I have found, if you are joining 1 1/4 to 1 1/4 you need 2" screws.If you go to the Kreg website they probably have screw size charts that will confirm this size.So, yes ... 2" is correct.

Q: Has anyone used these for project's that don't involve pocket holes? I'm looking to hang some panels on a wall through studs.

I used these screws for hanging exterior vinyl siding. The washer type head was similar in size to the head of a roofing nail. IMO they were much better than the nails my contractor was using (We worked side by side) because if I made it to tight I could easily back it off to leave room for expansion. Again IMO If you don't mind the look of the head or if the head is not going to show these screws will work fine for any project. GL

You are correct, these are just standard hardened steel with a zinc coating and not stainless. I have notified Amazon of the error. You could also use them outdoors, but depending on how much moisture or other corrosive elements are involved, you would then need to check and possibly replace them periodically.
