Really works to relieve muscle pain
A brilliant piece of kit, it helps get rid of the aches and pains that you have after exercising. All you do is roll the painful part on the roller using your body weight and it seems to massage the muscle so that the pain lessens. The roller is really light but also very strong and sturdy, we just chuck it under the sofa and use it when we're watching TV. Extremely useful, we're now looking to buy a small roller for the feet.

Light and easy
This is a mid-size roller, not quite as large as ones I have used in the past and I have to say I like it that way. It’s easier to store away and yet large enough for all the muscle easing I want to do. It’s really light too, making it portable and easy to carry to the gym. I fear its vibrant and light colour might not last

A great stop gap and self care for superficial knots and aches etc but doesn't replace professional treatment
When you understand the purpose and limitations of these rollers they are a really good tool to have for self care of mild bodily tension and recovery and even to help with some physio and Pilates style exercises. What they don't do is replace a professional massage and/or physio treatment in the long term as they are best for releasing generic myofascial/superficial surface tension such as after a workout or regularly throughout the day if stuck in one position (hunched over working etc) although they are probably more effective than a 'beauty' massage aka stroke by numbers. However if you cannot afford regular treatments (I totally get it, there's treatments I'm wishing for!) this can help ease the light aches and 'crunchiness' by interrupting muscle spasms and breaking down the product of anaerobic respiration in the muscle fascia (the coating over muscles) and helping extend the time between the need for treatments but if you are getting it for sore aches or deep muscle crunchiness you need a professional. Indeed some professionals will use things like these if you have a limited treatment time to help exactly that, break down the surface tension over a large area quickly so they can be more effective with their deeper treatment. This one is great for beginners or just light everyday squats or side to side steps with it between you and a wall (maybe in private if at work?) for the kind of back tension simple stretching won't quite ease. Softer than many and without any ridges it's a nice way to get into the benefits of rolling without being overwhelmed or sore.

Surprisingly Excellent.
Very strong, very light and surprisingly effective. I've used rollers in the past but the knobbly ones can become irritants after a few minutes. Not so this one. Great for a knotted back and shoulders after jiu-jitsu.

this easy gadget promisesand delivers
wow, now this is an excellent product that works without the arduous trips to the gym or the physiotherapist., This robust roller ~ one size fits all ~ will magically reach the parts no other device can. It is simplicity itself just lie on the roller and let gravity and common sense do the rest.Being a long-time back sufferer I looked upon the simplicity with some skepticism; I have tried almost everything included the healing hands of a chiropractor. This foam ( the hardest foam I have ever felt) roller not only supported my body weight as from my lower back, but in one smooth revolution had clicked my back out of its stubborn achiness + healed in one roll. Can this be true? I have spent the day celebrating a non-painful lower back for the furst time in years !! Result.highly recommended not oly for doing what it says on the tine but also for immediacy, confidence restoring and healing

Massage Foam Roller
At first I wasn't convinced, but then I used it and I think it's really great. The foam roller is solid, it's not exactly soft and comfortable, but then it does need to hold the weight of a human on it without collapsing, so it makes sense. I had no idea to use it before, so it definitely needs some guidance to get the best use out of it.I did the back exercise first as for some reason this seemed the easiest (more likely that I wanted to lie down) and it involved putting the roller in your power back, and using your legs to roll it all the way up your back. You know, it works. My back clicked and it felt like getting a very strong massage. It's painful, but a good pain. If ever you've hard a sports massage or deep tissue massage, it's incredibly similar. The language translation is slightly wrong in that you don't get a DVD or book included, at first I thought for the price it should include one, but then I realised a DVD is actually more effort seeing as I don't have anything to play it on. So I downloaded the App called BlackRoll - it's actually surprisingly good. It's essentially like an ebook-app, loads really quick, easy laid out to understand and works really well. This is my first use of a massage roller and i'm happy with it, I only really do the back moves as it's a very satisfying pain that releases the tension, but as a product I was very pleased with the app too.

Found the standard to be better
I also have the standard roll in this range. It’s a medium level roller, while this one is aimed at beginners. I can’t really tell why as I found this one to be more uncomfortable than the medium level one. This roller is quite thick in width and shorter in length. I found it harder to do my plank using this or even the massaging of my back or legs. I tried to do a pigeon stretch using it, but it was difficult. I think it’s a case of seeing what works best for you. The main difference I found was that the thickness of this roller was more uncomfortable for me than whether it was softer than the one I have. I think it’s a process of elimination to find the one that suits you.
