Have these messed up anyone's door Paint?

They don’t touch the paint at all. So no they have not messed it up

I have wind guards on my doors. Will this affect the mechanism of hanging them on this?

The hanger is less wide than the window itself. That said if window goes up with guard on, you would be golden with this product. Hope this helps you. I love the product!!!
