Its ok. But leaks when filled with water, then rusts
You can fill with sand or water. I filled with water and the seal leaks and leaves a rusty mess on the floor. Can't give it a glowing review, it could be better!

Does what it says on the tin, however difficult to fill with sand
Assembly - very easy, manuverability - good for a heavy object, rolling capability - it's a good cardio-vascular workout as you drag it around the lawn, however, it does the job and your lawn will come though thicker because of it and the worm casts will be flattened. The only bugbear is the filling with sand, because of the small hole it's incredibly slow (even using a fast flow funnel) so be prepared for a few back-breaking minutes when filling. Make sure you use kiln dried sand. Filling with water is a doddle, however, once you've filled it with water, if you then fill it with sand you get a bit of clogging inside, so my recommendation, only fill with one filler. Water is the lightest, sand is the next and a much more permanent concrete is the heaviest. Overall a good product and good value for money.

Think twice before filling with sand.
It works pretty well filled with water but the nylon washer leaks however tight you make it. I reckon a rubber washer would be a lot better. If you use sand, make sure it is kiln dried or you could be asking for problems. Probably a good idea to use a funnel to fill the roller with sand. The weight will increase significantly so less easy to move about. Your choice.

Excellent
This roller is sturdy, well made and easy to assemble. I filled mine with water from a rainwater butt using a length of garden hose. I smeared a small amount of Vaseline around the stopper threads, washer and end cap, tightened it in and have had no leaks at all.My lawn had become lumpy and bumpy so when the ground was soft I rolled the lawn thoroughly and most of the lumps and bumps were much flatter. I repeated this 2 weeks later and am really pleased with the end result.Overall this is a good lawn roller and good value for money.

Great size and levels superbly
I filled the roller with sand however if the sand is damp then it takes along time to fill due to the small hole for filling. Dry sand is far better.Overall it's a great roller easy to put together and does a fantastic job.

HEAVY TO MOVE
ROLLED NEW SEEDED LAWN BUT IT DIDNT MAKE MUCH DIFFERENCE , I THINK I SHOULD HAVE ROLLED IT BEFORE SEEDING, STILL..... BIG PIECE OF EQUIPMENT THATS NOT NEEDED NOW. SHOULD HAVE HIRED ONE.

Good and heavy
Needed something heavier than my cylinder lawn mower for our new turf. This roller arrived quickly and was easy to assemble. I used sand for maximum weight. I bought five Hanson Kiln Dried Sand Maxipacks at £3.60 each. They weighed 22kg each, and I thought I would need nearly the five, but couldn't, even with a lot of jiggling, get more than four in - so it should weigh just over 100kg, which is pretty good. They say it weighs 120kg filled with sand, but don't know they get the last bit in - maybe it'll bed down with time. Are some sands denser than others? Guess they might vary a bitBy the way, if you use water, they say add antifreeze and drain if not used for some time. Another bonus for sand (if you're not going to transport it).
