Strong and good quality, but heavy and big
I am very skeptical of retractable leads as I have always been told how dangerous they are for other people and for dogs. I considered getting a cord one as I have a long haired Keeshond, but after reading about burns and cuts caused by cord retractables I decided to go with a tape one. I have been using it for just over a month now, and so far I think it's a great good quality product.Pros:- Retracts easily even if the tape twists- Fluorescent blue colour means it's easy to see so farmers and people know the dog is on lead- When needing to grab the tape, the friction isn't too bad as the material is soft- Great for training puppy for a good recall- Doesn't get caught in long fur due to sleek material- Long, 8m length, meaning I can play ball with my puppy quite happilyCons:- Very heavy - heavier than a cord retractable - but this might be a sign of good quality tape, and it is 8m. This does mean my hand starts aching after a while- "Comfortable" feature is pointless for very small hands- Quite big, but again this might be needed for the amount of tape- Retractables are quite frowned upon - make sure you use them on a harness and NEVER a collar or halti as you can hurt your dogAlways make sure your dog's temperament is appropriate for a retractable. I'd recommend doing research before investing in a retractable either way to understand the set backs and positives. All in all a good product and worth the money. And the colour matches my treat bag!

Not fit for purpose!
Lead snapped within a month of purchase! Tried to find a contact to complain, so had a chance to resolve before leaving a bad review...but seems to be made particularly hard to find a way of making contact. Hence I'm now posting this! Would welcome a response from the company if they actually read these reviews!

Design Fault?
This was a nice long lead with a robust feel to it without being too heavy.Unfortunately after 6 months the tape began to split at a point about an inch from the latch, so I took advantage of Amazon's offer of a replacement. After 2 months of use this one started to split in exactly the same place and I had to return this one for a refund. Our dog weighs approx 32 Kg, with the lead being rated up to 50Kg.

A good retractable lead.
My main fear with retractable leads is the dreaded 'snapping' while on a walk, so i put off buying one for ages. Sadly my dog is not one i could really let of the lead so i caved and went for the longest i could find to give him some freedom while down the park. He's only a medium size dog, so he didn't need the large, but it was the only one for the length i wanted. It's not too heavy, the tape seems pretty sturdy from what i can tell, and i'm glad you can adjust it to fit smaller size hands. It does feel kind of clunky to hold, but i kind of expect it from all retractable leads. The locking mechanism works fine, i do agree that it does give a small amount before it stops completely, but i never use this walking along side the roads anyway, so it doesn't affect us too much.Despite the fact i'd still rather take a traditional lead over a retractable, if you happen to want to give your dog that sensation of almost freedom on a lead, i'd happily recommend one of these.

A Must-Have!
Excellent product!I purchased the teal coloured leash, 50 kg for my one year old, extremely active, strong and nimble Staffie. At first sight the products looks similar to any other extendable leash. The 50kg model is fairly big but despite its size remain very comfortable and lightweight. The rope is flat and made from what I am assuming to be some kind of nylon. At first I was terrified, the rope is thin and I wasn't sure it would suffice to hold my dog back as he is very strong and quite the puller. However I've not seen any sign of breaking or tearing on the leash and the added range has helped a lot with his behaviour. The mechanism is great. It feels snappy and sleek. The dog can pull on it from any angle and it doesn't get tangled or blocked. For those who think the handle might be too big this is great because it means you can lower your arm and keep it in a resting position most of the time without having to keep your arm extended. If you are thinking of buying this product do not hesitate any longer, great stuff. The leash is not marketed as reflective but the bright teal colour makes it easy to see in the daylight and I have noticed it to cast back a bit of light in the dark. Not much but maybe enough for a careless cyclist to notice it in low lightThe black box under it is another product. Nothing to write home about, it snaps in place in a little alcove and can be used for storing pop bags or treat. I personally use it for treats.

Good extendo-lead but not great value for money
We bought this lead for our 48 kg Rottweiler. We decided to invest in a good quality lead as we can't take any chances with the lead braking and the dog being on the loose. It does what it says on the tin, even though it's not the full 8m long, more like 7.60 (7.90 if you measure the length of the handle and the swivel snap hook on the end).I'm not enamoured by it. The lead guide only works well if the dog is in front of you. When the dog is behind you or nicely walking to heel the lead sometimes gets caught or twisted and will not retract.I find the spring for retracting quite strong. I realise this is probably needed to wind in 8-odd meters of lead, but I am worried about the constant pressure it puts on my dog's neck, taking away some of the freedom that an extendable lead is supposed to offer by making him constantly feel like he is being dragged back towards me.Finally I've seen similar leads from less well-known brands which is way cheaper and look just as robust.A decent product but not great value for money. I would not buy this again.
