KILZ TRIBUTE Interior Satin Paint & Primer In One, 8-Ounce Sample, True Teal (TB-59)

I ordered the Chambray Blue color. I really like the color of this paint as shown in all of the online photos (which I found very helpful vs just a tiny chip color card). Unfortunately, thepainted color on my wall is not at all similar. It looked like an okay grey-blue in the can, so I was hopeful that once dry the paint color would resemble the grey blue as it is described to be. I've attached a photo of the sample test area. In my opinion, the color is a bright sky blue which simply is not at all what I want. Also, it is kind of a cotton candy blue color. Unfortunately, this is a color that I do not wish to use anywhere in my home. On a more positive note, the packaging was securely fabulous! Paint can lids had four metal snap on lid locks and they were wrapped in thick plastic bags, a can opening key, two stir sticks and a painting supply check list. Cans were snuggly boxed with cardboard fitted tops and bottoms (to prevent movement) and double boxed! The paint had a lovely creamy texture and practically no odor. Coverage was smooth and adhered well to the 3 year old "contractor's" quality sprayed on flat color. Once dry the Kilz matte finish resembled eggshell finish that I have used in the past. This matte finish is great for walls that are less than perfectly smooth, for areas where you don't want to use flat paint, or need just a bit of washability. Rooms that will see much more use would benefit from a step up in sheen level. I am on my 4th home and have personally done all of my own interior painting over the past 30+ years (except for a 2 story foyer). I used to use SW, Kilz, Behr and Lowe's paint up to about 13 years ago. Since then I have used Behr exclusively. I thought this Kilz seemed excellent, it just was the wrong color for me.

Painted my bathroom cabinet and mirror the Oceanic color.It looks great!I slacked with sanding, so i'll need to apply another coat.It is fully covered with two of the sample sizes, but I ordered another for a final coat and to get the inside of the front doors done.An amazing color and just what I wanted to get rid of the cherry red cabinet!I recommend and will be ordering KILZ brand from here on out.

After having all new floors installed, we decided to update the paint we had applied 20 years ago when we moved in. We saved this room for last because we were both apprehensive about how many coats it was going to take to fully cover that red. The Kilz reputation led me to this paint, and I really was bummed when I learned that Amazon is the sole source for their "Tribute" line. Not that I have anything against Amazon, I order from here nearly every week (sometimes several times a week). I just felt it was very risky buying paint- it's heavy and if it were to come open during shipping, it could be something akin to a disaster. Before I select a paint, I have always painted a section of foam core board so I can check multiple locations in differing lights to be sure of the color prior to putting it on the wall(s). Of course, samples were "unavailable" in the colors I was most interested in. After debating for almost 2 weeks, I went ahead and took the chance on the one I thought was my favorite. I ordered 2/25, it was delivered 2/25 in perfect condition. WHEW!Now for the really good news; this paint goes on like a dream, gives excellent coverage (even on the red), and dried to exactly the color I expected. The only prep (other than taping off NO PAINT zones) was brushing the walls with a broom and then filling nail holes with DAP Spackling Compound. We didn't sand the surface, which was previously a satin sheen, and had absolutely no problem with this paint adhering. ONE COAT COVERAGE!! I'm not kidding, folks. This paint is great. I almost didn't even need a second coat butdid apply one to be safe. Love this paint!!

Paint and primer in one? Sign me up! I had never bought this brand before. I've always been a huge fan of Benjamin Moore but this paint is amazing. It went on so easily and covered beautifully. I bought the sample size for a project I was doing (painting a vintage trunk). I was surprised to see that someone commented on the odor. I had no problem at all with odor. It smells less than any other paint I've ever used. I will be using Kilz Tribute again. Thank you for a great product.

Color: 23-Pale Emerald (TB-57): I ordered the sample size of this paint. It comes in the exact style of plastic (screw on lid) container that you would get a sample of paint in at the paint counter at a Home Depot. The color is a creamy shade of teal green. (Not minty or bright); with just a tinge of bluish undertone. The shade is very mild in intensity, & would be a great color as a background in just about any room.

These are a great concept! Painting is a messy job, and when you're trying to decide on a color you end up cross-contaminating colors when you paint several small patches at once. These peel-and-stick paint swatches bypass the mess and the color contamination because they're paper. What's more, since they ARE peel-and-stick, you're not left with patches of color on your wall until you paint the whole thing.Good for Kilz - I foresee this being the future of paint samples. Very effective.

UPDATE: After finishing my project I can say that the colour is definitely a very light blue. I wouldn’t say it’s the same colour as the photo shown above but it turned out much better than I originally thought.I bought a few samples sizes of Northern Sky to repaint a chest of drawers. The colour in the container is much lighter than what’s shown on the website. The actual color is much closer to a white/light grey. Disappointed but I’ll see what it looks like when painted.

KILZ goes on smooth, covers in one coat, and is very bright and beautiful. There was very little smell to the paint, and it dried fairly quickly, you only need 2 hours between coats. I got the satin finish, which almost looks more like a semi-gloss. The blue I got was also a lot more vibrant then the online sample, but I still like it.

WindChime, Eggshell: Very light silver that almost looks white, unless it's next to a darker color. I combined it with Kilz Tribute Nomad's Trail. The contrast is amazing! This is the best interior paint I've ever worked with. It covered up the nasty tobacco stains and odor from the last occupants and I can actually stand being inside now.

1.) The color was very similar to what was displayed on the site. I know there is always some variation in color of paint from what the marketing material shows. But this was surprisingly accurate. Color is very nice, looks great in my babies' nursery.2.) Application is excellent, even though I painted over a somewhat strong color, this paint is excellent at coverage and in just one coat was able to fully cover the previous paint. Very thick and smooth, easily goes on with a 1/2" nap roller on a textured wall-- not problems!3.) Paint arrived in 3 days, no leaks, no spills, can was intact, no dents. I was surprised how hard the clips are to get off, I think this company (since it isn't coming directly from Amazon) should include a tool to get the clips off-- that would save me from having to find a small screw driver to pry them off.

This company is awesome for sending this free sample it would be amazing if all of the paint companies would do this $6-8 for sample paint can add up. they're easy to stick and peel off and put on your wallet different lighting and in different rooms and gives you large enough sample to imagine what the wall would look like. I will be purchasing my paint from this company for this amazing sample.

These paint swatch samples are fantastic. They are the size of a sheet of notebook paper. You can stick it on the wall to get a good idea of what it will look like before investing in a bucket of paint. So much better than the little paint chips. Can check it in different lighting for hues and shades. Who ever came up with the idea of large paint samples is a genius. Really helped me alot.

I bought a bunch of Killz sample sizes to do an accent wall. Mission accomplished! Odor wasnt too bad. I bought way too many but Im sure I'll find a new project for them soon. (and yes the hideous accent pillows have been replaced lol)
