Hmm, not sure, but it is a sturdy, plain book bag that I think is nicely designed, with a little graphic flair. I often carry library books in it. It seems a bit grown up for an 8 year old to me, but I suppose it depends on the 8 year old and where you live and so on.

Q: How many ounces is this bag?

I’ve never weighted the bag and it was a gift but it’s definitely canvass and not cotton so it has a little weight to it. Also it is described as heavyweight. Best answer I can give.
