are you able to quickly remove the old blade by extending it out the end? will it automatically load a new blade when you retract it all the way? 9mm

It's been a while since I purchased this From what I can remember you pull/slide the black bit at the rear end out Then using the blade slider you withtract the blasé out backwards remove the old blade from the slider and fit a new blade & reinsert the blade. & slider and put the end clip back in It doesn't automatically reload its self but is easy n quick to change blades Hope this helps 👍

Does the knife have a thumb screw to lock the blade? The description says it does, but the photos show otherwise.

There is no thumb screw. However the slide lock is metal and and solid, does not move unless you use the slide. I would consider this the Rolls Royce of snap knives and wish it had been available years ago. Note there are a number of variations to the design for different purposes at varying prices. I have that number 10-475 on mine. Hope this helps.
