It requires female thread with correct diameter

My tsp measures 26mm. Am I right in thinking this fits inside the circumference not on the outside circumference of the tap? If inside then it's fine

How much water reduction do you get with these?

You don't really get any reduction, if anything it seems faster as it directs the flow & stops it splashing everywhere once it lands in the sink, it's well worth getting, I brought it due to the original one breaking (was made of plastic & got brittle) this one is metal & much better quality.

What is the difference between male and female cover?

Depends on the nature of the tap adaption screw. If it is internal you need a male screw if external a female screw
