Good Value
This is a good value for the price. Even though it's in the garage, which was HOT in Texas this past summer, it worked just fine. Everything is always frozen solid. It holds plenty for a 2-person household, though things are jumbled up because there's little in the way of compartmentalizing. Not having a light is a minor inconvenience at times, but again, for the price, it's great.

Best damn thing I've done lately is buy this!
I decided to get healthy and start making smoothies to aid in my quest for weightloss. Problem is my refrigerator is teeny weeny and the freezer was just sad, barely able to fit a 1/2 sheet cake inside. I knew I would need space to put all the stuff I planned on making, and for leftover storage, so I bought this and I haven't regretted it for a second. Not only does it keep everything nice and frozen solid better than my fridge's freezer, it holds oh so very much more. I was able to store a month's worth of bulk goods inside and even had room for my Freshly meals to boot. This has changed my life soooo much for the better, I've been able to store my creations and thaw them out as I need them with no issues whatsoever, store all kinds of easy meals and the like without worry. Best thing of all, it's super quiet, I don't notice that I have a deep freeze in my small apartment. Thanks so very much for this awesome thing!

After just under 2 years-no complaints
Was skeptical when I got it, I like sticking to major brands on appliances but went for it anyway. Not any issues at all for me. You need to be careful if kids use it because the baskets can not be right and it will not close all the way. Happened once to us but nothing thawed or anything, it only stays open a hair when l it does. Just had to show kid how the baskets are supposed to sit and no more issues. More of a people problem than an item issue.Just under 2 years use now and it’s still one of the best purchases I’ve made in recent times. So convenient to have even just a little more space for frozen goods. Doesn’t use too much energy from my experience and isn’t very noisy either. Probably about one third as loud as my central a/c is when running. I don’t have to turn up the tv in the same room when it kicks in and have slept near it without any issues so I would say it’s quiet. Has more space than I thought it would, one word of advice is that it’s deep enough to forget what all is in it so it’s good to stack stuff carefully.Delivery was fast. Slight box damage but freezer was all good inside so I can’t complain. Not sure how I went so long ising just a side by side fridge, this is so much easier to put things in and get stuff out of. Very happy so far with this freezer.

Caution!!!!
The unit came sooner than expected which was great. Box was intact with no damage to the unit. It`s really deep and can hold alot of food. I was rather taken aback by how deep it is. It`s a little noisy when the compressor kicks on. It really looks aesthetically pleasing the unit. So far so good, however i only had it a few days. I keep the dial on minimum settings due to how cold it gets and how well it maintains my venison nice and ice block cold. Now the problem.NO WARRANTY information. This freezer chest came with no warranty card or warranty page in the owners manual. I called the third party seller who sold this to me on Amazon who was absolutely useless. I was left actually calling Koolatron corprate who told me the owners manual states their is a 90 day warranty. I was shocked to say the least. A 90 day warranty on an appliance... the customer service rep then promptly stated " That`s what the owners manual states but it`s warrantied for one year from date of purchase" well then i`m thinking why does the owners manual state 90 days ( mine doesn't have a warranty page) but when i called looking for one she tells me one year....Pretty disconcerting to say the least. Needless to say i was not going to take her word for it and when i asked for something in writing she stated their wasn't anything beyond me keeping my Amazon receipt and owners manual. The same generic owners manual that doesn't even have the 90 day warranty page...I haven't had this unit a week but am feeling pretty nervous based on how dodgy the company and seller are being about this. I NEVER bought an appliance with no warranty information. I will leave a follow up some time around October 2019 around the one year anniversary date.Currently in my state venison is roughly $15 per pound ground wont be a happy man if i lose my ground and steaks.12/6/19 Update: After a year and never turning the temperature higher than low I'm impressed. This freezer started to form frost recently and i had defrost.Really impressed and no problems so far. Still sad the warranty wasn't longer neither was there an option to purchase one separately. After a year it still works and haven't had any problems so far.

Great small freezer
Thanks to Amazon Prime the appliance showed up in two days. I was concerned when I saw the FedEx driver roll the box across the lawn like a was a wheel turning it upside down and sideways several times before it reached my front porch. I was expecting all kinds of damage, and everyone knows you DON"T TURN A REFGERATOR or FREEZER UPSIDE DOWN FOR ANY REASON!Fortunately there was no visible damage so I let the thing sit for a good 10 hours to let the refrigerant settle. After plugging it in it cooled very quickly, and got to 6 degrees F within an hour!I was somewhat surprised to see that it only had a 90 day warranty, but since I purchased a 4 year warranty from at the time of purchase from Amazon, I'm not to concerned.Of course only time will tell if the appliance will hold up, at this point I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Check Out The Capacities
We stumbled across the 5.5 by accident. Most small freezers are in the 3 cubic foot range. There is amazingly little difference in cost to jump all the way from 3.1/3.5 to 5.5 (same manufacturer) - approaching double capacity. The unit is whisper quiet, freezes well and quickly and runs very full on only half power setting. It is very deep, but there are 2 large baskets which help a great deal. Highly recommended.

Good freezer, looks and work fine
We bought it to store our plenty excess tomato harvest from summer. It is in Basement, rather deep and works fine for our purpose. Arrived in perfect condition in Fedex and was not damaged or bumped on its exterior, as some other reviewers experienced with their delivaries. It came in box with a warning, "...can cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm...".Some household appliances may contain chemicals that are on the Proposition 65 list, that have this warning on them. This scared me quite a lot for a bit, but I did more reading on this and now I am ok keeping it in the house. Research this before ordering if this is really important for you...
