Unlike the filament bulb it replaces, this does not cast out light in all directions and doesn't generate a tonne of waste heat. These are both positives. The old bulb used to blind me; this feels much more directional and controlled. We can also leave it on for a while to charge rechargeable toothbrushes without wasting so much electricity.Time will tell how long it lasts, but it's been in a month so far without issue. Also, some people comment about LED lights flickering. I'm sensitive to flicker and I don't notice anything from this light.

Superb compared to having the fire risk of those 60W filament strips previously in the shaver light sockets.. I would say this is even brighter than the 60W filament it replaced, as all the light here is emitted only to the required side, the filament strips lose half their light output into the lamp holder.. Not cheap compered to the 60w filaments, but as most of us only need 1 per bathroom (if you have the shaver light fittings), it seemed a pretty good investment to me.

At last a bulb that actually replaces a standard 60w strip light. Well satisfied with a nice clean light. These I use in a display cabinet which is on most of the time. On average I use 10 standard bulbs in these fittings annually, actually buy them 10 at a time to last all year, at a cost £20 (£2.50 if bought singularly) Obviously can’t say how long they will last but seems an excellent buy with far less consumption.

I used this to replace the standard incandescent tube bulb in my bathroom cabinet and it has a very similar light output. Given the limited use the light gets, it should last the rest of my life. It was a tad fiddly to get it to connect up to the fittings and work, but giving it a few nudges back and forth and it settled down. I really should not hold it against this lamp as it is what it says it is, but there are times when I wish that the manufacturers of low energy bulbs would take advantage of the substantially reduced power required and heat generated to make bulbs with a higher light output. I would have thought that by simply adding an extra row of LEDs, they would have been able to up the light output by 50%. If this meant that it was 8w instead of 5w, I would not have worried, given it is replacing a 30w bulb.

I got this as a replacement for the bathroom mirror - the one I use for shaving.It produces a lovely bright white light - perfect for close viewing in the mirror.The colour is wrong if you wanted a bedside light but perfect for seeing your face well in the mirror.

Bought these to replace five old style bulbs under the kitchen cabinets. Ordered two to start with to see what they were like. I was so impressed with the delivery and quality I oredered the other three. That's when the problems started. Two of the three didn't work so had to pay myself for their return.All I wanted was another two to replace the ones that didn't work, simple, you would have thought.The company told me they needed to send the bulbs to the lab to test them. Apparently it's unusual for two out of three to be broken. Obviously not reading these reviews!Anyway it's now been going on for several weeks and I'm still out of pocket! They have said they'll refund, lab must have found that they are faulty, however they still haven't refunded or given me my postage back.So I've paid to have two faulty bulbs delivered and then paid to return them and I still haven't been refunded!So be warned!

Sadly, by LED replacement tube does not work in my bathroom light fitting. I have not returned it, because until I get a chance to test it out, I don't know whether the tube is faulty, or my bathroom fitting has died.
