I’ve nothing but praise for this DAB/DAB+ and FM radio. It’s neat, compact, easy to use and I can tune in local DAB stations as well as all the national ones which I’ve not been able to do with a previous bit of kit. Volume is plenty enough to fill a good sized room and the quality is great, crystal clear. It handles the bass line, mid and treble lines with no problems at all. Have not run the rechargeable battery out yet as it’s normally used on the mains, but it is an ideal partner for picnics, visits to the beach, any outdoor applications. Aesthetically pleasing on the eye with its smooth lines and slightly retro look. All round great little performer !!! Lastly the price, very good value for the money.

I really like this radio. The sound quality is excellent. I like the fact that it can be powered from the mains (using the mains adaptor provided) or powered from its internal rechargeable battery. The various controls are easy and intuitive to use. The user manual instructions are clear to use. There are plenty of presets to store and recall your favourite DAB+/FM stations. I would recommend this radio. Good value for money.

So far so good. Radio seems very good, sound is fine and radio itself looks cheerful in the kitchen. Good display of time on screen but titles of music being played are very slow-moving. Instructions on quick set-up could maybe be a bit clearer.

Arrived on time. Smart appearance. Easy to follow set up procedure, saved stations on preset buttons without any problems. Did not need to charge immediately, fits neatly on window sill (north facing so no direct sunlight!) Good sound and clear display.

Over six decades I have had many different makes of radio. I recently was awarded an Amazon £50 gift voucher upon signing up with a new telecom and broadband provider. With or without my voucher it is worthy purchase The DAB/DAB+ Azatom Spitafields 2 radio ranks highly in my estimation. It has excellent quality and is reasonably priced. It has many nice touches for example the sound equalizer which is of use depending on whether you are listening to news, classical music or changing channel to a hard rock stations. The white leatherette material with which the case is covered is quite classy, the colour of the cabinet is easy on the eyes and the buttons are responsive once you have become accustomed to them. Versatility -There is a remote control which further extends the radio's versatility whilst the display is clear and informative. The power source and charger is one that is frequently used on such devices. All in all it is a good radio.

Fantastic DAB+ (future proof) radio. Love large screen, crisp sound, easy setup and great rechargeable internal battery. Also bought Azatom Desire 2 but quickly realised the Azatom Spitalfields was so much better so have returned it. Also recommend the Azatom Blackfriars 2

I bought this to replace an ageing Pure bedroom radio which struggled to find stations sometimes. I looked for some time before deciding on this Azatom and am so glad I did. Firstly it is aesthetically pleasing and I was able to set the 6 preset buttons without reference to the manual. It sits on a shelf above our bed and the power cable is a bit short for that but as it terminates at the radio end with a USB plug I bought a 1m USB extension cable. Sound quality for a bedroom is very good with more than enough volume with a useful equaliser. It comes with a dinky remote control which works extremely well. Finally I would like to comment on the user manual which is easily readable, very well written and shows all the controls very clearly. I highly recommend this radio.

For anyone who, like me, has searched in vain for a handy sized radio that ticks all the boxes, there is so much to like about the unusually named “Spitalfields”. Moving beyond the obvious pre-requisites of dab and fm and the presetting of stations my main need was a sustainable power supply as we often go away off grid and without a regular mains electricity I needed a radio with rechargeable batteries or built-in re-chargeables. The Spitalfields has an amazing built-in rechargeable battery which is so good that you can carry it around for ages and listen with no lead and plug and just power it up now and then with a cable that looks surprisingly just like a mobile phone lead supplied with a USB into a standard 3-pin plug. ( the discovery that it will also recharge with the USB plugged into a 5 volt socket off the campervan battery just completes its versatility - but check this with a professional first unless you want to melt your new radio!) Beyond that, the size and shape of a lot of radios is either large and heavy , or small, even pocket sized but too slim and unstable. This is a great in-between size, (a bit smaller than the A5 paper-size) but also its depth (9cm) gives it stability and a chunky presence on any surface. The product design values are excellent. The clarity and layout of the white fascia is a welcome departure from the plethora of black units on offer that have obscure interface detail and controls. This has a large clear digital screen showing everything you need to keep abreast of all content info and more. The white fascia is echoed on the reverse , this is contrasted with a black (or white) cloth covering the top, bottom and sides of the unit. I also liked the clarity and layout of the control buttons. If I had any reservations it was the lack of convenient push button presets but after months of tracking down a unit that could tick all the boxes, I figured the concession of grappling with digitally controlled presets worth the risk. (Im not a technophobe, just lazy and I like the comfort of familiar controls) When it arrived it was brilliant, everything surpassed my expectations, it even included a small remote control. Once you’ve got your favourites pre-set which was straightforward, you do have to hit two buttons to retrieve a station and then hit the ‘enter’ button to select it, but the clarity and build quality of the controls make it easy. The remote has nine buttons with which you can instantly select stations more quickly as well as volume etc. The sound is really good, aided by the sub-woofer’ speaker on the back. It has a mellow quality, capable of clear sound at low levels, yet an impressive amount of volume when you need it. ‘Spitalfields’ suggests shades of cool hipster culture in trendy London’s East End but it makes an unusual name for a radio! The design and innovation of the ‘Spitalfields ‘ to me is its strength even if the marketing angles might be slightly obscure to some. It has the sub-title ‘Retro’ which reflects I assume, the sturdy cloth covered casing and the carrying handle which has been cleverly adapted from it’s 'retro' namesake in the Robert’s range. Despite some off beat branding, it does not detract from what is a really excellent and versatile radio.
