so where do you fit the sensors with an up and over garadoor as the bottom of the door opens out or is there a part missing

Yes inside at the bottom of the garage door, so if any body especially kids run in as the door closes it will break the beam and stop the door closing. This feature is more for for a sectional door but works just as well on an up and over door.

does this have an additional relay contacts so I can use them to bypass my alarm sensor on the garage door?

The only connections are power and ether-net, the my Q connects by wireless to the door opener.

With some basic tools and a little patience it's not too bad to fit. The instructions were weird to say the least some of steo numbers were missing, so just look at the pictures.
