I’m so happy to find some freekeh! Don’t let one bad review sway you not to buy it!
If you don’t know what freekeh is and how to cook it, please don’t buy it or this brand because you’ll be completely confused. I felt so sad (and actually laughed hysterically) for the person who just reviewed and said they threw it away because there was no label on it, it doesn’t tell you how to use it, and it was not as packaged as shown. Yes, it was. His label just fell off. Maybe he thought he was buying one of the other ones, with all the fancy colors and labeling!🤣😂 The only thing I could see wrong with his package, is that the plastic label fell off somehow during packaging. That doesn’t mean it was contaminated 😂🤣😂 People who know freekeh, don’t need instructions on how to use it and recognize it for what it is, even vacuum packed like this package is. if you don’t know how to use it, there are plenty of recipes on YouTube where you can find lots of great recipes to make this wonderful grain. I bought this brand just last week and what I noticed is that the label they stick on it, falls off. The label that was on mine fell off inside the package, I guess because they can’t figure out a better way to put a label on without destroying the vacuum packing and to keep costs low, totally understandable and unlike Americans, we don’t need all that fancy artwork and beautiful, but unnecessary packaging, to enjoy what we know is inside. We don’t care; we’re eating the food not the packaging. It’s also a win because it makes it much cheaper; if you noticed the other packages that are selling freekeh, they have all these fancy colors and packaging and stuff and it’s way more expensive than this block of just plain, ordinary, vacuum packed, FRESH, freekeh. It is still the same thing as pictured. It does come as pictured in that little square block because it is vacuum packed so it’s safe from bugs, dirt, and from being bruised. If you can’t figure that out just from looking at it, then really, you need to go back to school and get some kind of degree or some thing, because it’s quite plain that the package is vacuum sealed to protect it from being ruined. I mean, seriously, get a clue, dude. It’s nice, delicious, super versatile grain, make it similar to rice just use broth (vegetable, beef or chicken) as your liquid. Steam for 25 or so minutes and viola! Love this brand, Will definitely buy more. PLEASE don’t let a review of ignorance change your mind about this product or brand. You’ll love it!

Delicious but contains sand
Because of the size of the grains, you cannot separate the grit from the grain. Served to guests. Threw out remainder. Ugh.

Interesting but…
I am new to freekeh. After getting a Mediterranean cookbook for my birthday I couldn’t wait to try a grain new to me. I like the texture, much like brown rice or farro, and the taste is interesting. Kind of smoky. The thing I DONT like about this product is how sandy it is. Even after rinsing 3-4x I still get grit in my mouth. Wash very well then wash again. Maybe even again. If you find on sale it is probably worth a try if you like to experiment with non-standard grains. For me, I think I prefer farro.

It is not as ad shows.
The media could not be loaded. It does not have any label other than a paper scan label. No information about anythingThere’s nothing saying what it is, how old or where it comes from. And I can’t return it. Throwing it out
