adidas Originals Men's Mundial Team Football Boots

I have owned many pairs of Adidas Copa Mundial Team trainers over the years. My son needed a new pair of trainer and this coincided with his 12th Birthday. As part of his present he had an "upgrade" from £40 trainers to these beauts! In my mind there are no training shoes better than these. I have had my current pair for over 8 years and there is hardly any wear on the sole. That's after playing easily over 750 games in them (See attached photo of the sole). The leather is still in prime condition and there's still plenty of tread depth.These shoes are made from what Adidas call "K-Leather". This is to avoid the abuse of the animal rights tree huggers who have never been to Australia and seen the damage that these unusual marsupials do. In fact, the anti-Adidas movement started because a certain US brand paid animal rights groups as they were using plastic on their premium boots. Now, Adidas is playing the same game and is selling what are basically plastic shoes at premium prices. When I was a kid, if you had plastic trainers you suffered horrendous abuse. How times change. The Kangaroo Leather used in these shoes is ultra premium. Kangaroo leather has a tensile strength ten times that of normal cow hide. It's also much lighter and thinner and has been used for decades for elite sprint shoes (running spikes). Thus, I'm sick of paying through the nose for the latest and greatest innovation which recently has ranged from shoes made out of knicker elastic to stretchy mesh. The reason these "engineered" materials are used is solely down to profit. Widescale automation is more easily implemented when your shoe comes out of a mould or only has one stitching or gluing operation. It's about profit pure and simple. That's why leather is in such short supply in the sport and leisure gear market. There's only one material that performs like leather and that is leather.The Copa Mundial Team will resist abrasion very easily. Kangaroo is used in the top motorbike race suits for a very good reason. If it can protect MotoGP riders rubbing down the road at nearly 200mph, it can stop your feet rubbing against the 5-a-side surround or the pavement. These shoes are very comfortable and remain comfortable when you're playing in torrential rain. There's less absorption of water than cow leather and they dry very quickly. The ribbed stitched area on the top of the upper offers a great first touch and great grip on the ball when playing in the wet. The sole again offers brilliant grip whether inside, on pavement/asphalt, 2G astro (sand), 3G, 4G, frosty ground, hard ground and a reasonable amount on soft ground. However, soft ground use is not recommended since once the studs are full of mud, the grip has gone.Another great thing about these shoes is that they are very sturdy and protect your feet and ankles. They have a proper heel counter which helps lessen impacts from people playing in studded boots on astro (even the nutters in the aluminium studs (YES you know who you are!)). If they ever discontinue these I'll be buying a shed load to store away. In conclusion, for all the reasons I noted here, I bought these trainers for my son, having "play" tested these shoes over many years. If you love your football, want to look smart and don't want to be paying out £40 every 6 months for a pair of Adidas/Nike plastic profit shoes, get them, you'll love them!

First things first, compare to other Adidas football boots, this is true, true to size if not slightly roomy for true to size. So my suggestion is do not go half size up. This show is ok length correct size and would fit a wide feet comfortably, that’s my experience. Now putting on feet instantly make you feel good, shot at the ball felt more solid, and gives you confidence having leather boots, especially for a defender. I started thinking all other boots are redundant if you have these pair!

These have been the only boots that fit my width for ages. They are pricey but they are the best choice for wide feet.

These are quite simply the comfiest and in my opinion, the classiest looking Astro Trainers money can buy. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair as they are so comfortable. I normally buy size 11 trainers, even though my feet are only a size 10, due to them being wide. However the size 11 ones fit perfectly and if anything i probably could have got away with half a size smaller as i think they are pretty generously sized. I ordered them at the beginning of February and they didn't need any bedding in and were really comfy out of the box.The only thing to note is that Kangaroo Skin is not naturally waterproof like calf skin boots, so i dubin/wax them every week to make sure they stay waterproof in the english weather and so far they haven't let me down.Brilliant shoes for playing in, refereeing in or just coaching in. I recommend these very highly.

A real classic boot and I love them!Product arrived right on time, they fit like a glove and even help with my 'glass-ankles' as the support is quite deep. Very comfy too which is always a bonus. Just a shame they don't actually help me play any better! But they still feel great
