Can you charge this by using a 5V 1A iPhone charger plugged into the wall at home?

Will the 12v output work to power up a small power inverter using the cigarette lighter barrel plug? I've tried other units and they didn't work.

Depends on the inverter power draw. With this unit being 12V @ 10A, that is 120W (and more likely 100W). So, if your inverter is requesting more than a 10A draw (120W), then no...

Does this have Manual override?

Not sure what you mean. When you connect the jumper cables, if it measures very low voltage it beeps and you can't continue, else you proceed to start the vehicle with the unit providing a surge of current. Not sure what manual override would do.
