An extremely well made paddle holder

While it’s easy to carry a spare paddle using just the standard bungees on most touring/sea kayaks you pretty much resign yourself to no longer having access to your bow hatch (assume you stow them up front like me) until you remove the paddles and unless you are in a group setting and have someone along to help you put the shafts under the front bungees.Those issues are addressed and eliminated with this paddle clutch simply unclip and flip the loops out of the way and you have full access to the bow hatch. Also you can easily swap between paddles on the fly unassisted due to the shafts being easy to re-insert into the paddle clutch up front… from there it is standard procedure of simply tucking the blades under the bungees on your bow deck like normal. Not only does it make swapping paddles possible but EASY….AND easy to put a split paddle back IN the clutch for stowage .Great buy!

This design is simple, practical and light. I like it way better than the britches I used to have on my deck, however you can't use this if you have a deck mounted compass, so it would have to go at the stern. This likely could've been replaced with a wide velcro attachment, or something similar. Other than that, it's a great minimalist tool if you need to secure your paddles better than what deck bungies offer.

Fit well on my kayak, clean and easy to use.

The Gearlab Paddle Clutch looks good. It's not filling all the deck space. So far the attachment is simple and solid. I might have reservations on th size of the Paddle loops. They seem a bit big. The paddle slips in easily, but als easily out. Got my blades secured under my deck webbing. Have to test it in rougher weather to see how it holds my paddles.

I love this. Use it yesterday on my 24 miles journey. It's not bulky and coolest thing is you can unsnap the hatch to get something out.I give it 7 stars if I could. Great product!!!!
