Tight fit then falls apart with normal use
These a tight to fit onto the end of a normal optical cable but also into optical port on the compatible device. My one actually got stuck and fell apart when tried pulling it out. I had to use pliers to get it out.

Did not work for me
My Mac Mini 2018 wont even recognise this unit. I tried it on my MacBook Pro 2015 and it is recognised but no sound.On this basis I do not recommend for Mac machines.
