Q: Is the case easily removable? I mostly want it for the grips and I’d like to be able to take them on and off to put my switch back in the travel case.

very easy .. it just slips on. it is just like the phone case. it is made of a silicone gel around the front of the device and with a hard plastic backing for the grips and back side. very well made and it does slide into the dock with ease. the only thing i don't like is that kickstand is protected inside the case and not usable with the case on.
