Stormguard 06SR0180000BL Sleeved Complete Letter Box Black, External Size 295mmx75mm Internal Aperture 279mm x 465mm

Purchased letterbox in November 2021. Was easy to install - ready to use. The draught is kept out. Still attached to the front door. Very robust. Will get a load of mileage out of it.

Perfect external dimensions to replace my old broken letter box - however the internal sleeves were too deep for it to fit snugly into the panel of my UPVC front door (the box says minimum door thickness 30mm and max 70mm - seems my door is 25mm but I couldn't measure it accurately until I took the old one out!! Also, although the fittings were identical and the height and width of the sleeves fitted the door aperture perfectly, the screw holes were very slightly closer together - around 265-270mm instead of 275-280mm, and even if the sleeves had been narrower I could not have drilled new holes a few mms closer together to fit it.... BTW - initially the new one seemed very light, plasticy and inferior to my old one, however when I removed the old one, it too was equally light and flimsy once off the door!!! (In the end I just had to refit the broken one in reverse it for the moment to stop the postie breaking it further until I find something to fit!!!)

The aperture is smaller than the one I'm replacing but it fits as expected, works as expected and having the brush bits is a bonus

The product is as described. However I found it troublesome to fit. Lining up the screw holes between the two pieces was difficult. I had to improvise some screw guides by cutting piece of drinking straws. Also the screws only just bite, I not sure how long this will stay in place. For the price it is acceptable, however there are some design flaws that could be improved on.

Nice letterbox although I was not sure which parts to measure so I had to chip away a bit of the wooden door but was very successful fitting it.

This is a good item but it does have a few downsides. First of all make sure you don't over tighten the screws. Secondly the draft excluders on the inner part have a habit of falling off, especially when a delivery person tries to shove something too big through. Although it is easy to reattach. My advice is to trim the draft excluders down a little bit to stop them becoming as prone to falling off. But overall a good product at a very reasonable price and would recommend this.

I bought this as a direct replacement for an existing Stormguard model that had been in place for about 9 years without problems, but was damaged when moving some furniture in. These are fairly standard on a lot of new homes, and I am sure they supply a lot of them to builders. Unfortunately the builders squeeze the suppliers and they don't want to lose the contract so they cut the price but reduce quality. The plastic materials on the new model seem lower quality and they supply screws instead of bolts for joining the two pieces - this may be OK we'll see. But they now also only put 3 lugs to slide the brushes onto instead of 4, with the result that within 20 mins of fitting, the postman came and pushed the brushes off and they came thru with the letters - Have tried to refit but same thing happens every time and I leave them off now. Hey-Ho - I would willingly pay a couple of pounds extra for better quality and let them supply the builders with a cheaper model.

Die Einwurfklappe kam super schnell an.Sie sieht auch sehr schön und stabil aus.Die Borsten sind auch sehr gut,aber die obersten Borsten nehmen wir raus.Da sonst die Post zu schwer in den Einwurf geht.Sind sehr zufrieden.

Le courrier doit franchir un premier clapet qui est maintenu à la main, puis la brosse et enfin un deuxième clapet.Les 2 derniers obstacles sont difficiles à franchir et les lettres se plient ou restent coincées dans la brosse si le facteur ne fait pas d'effort.Il faut faire une petite modif pour donner plus de souplesse.Sinon RAS
