Exactly what I wanted.
To be perfectly honest, the only reason I bought this is because I lost the keys to my other ADG SecureVault, which I have been using for well over 10 years and is still going strong. I was too stubborn to just throw it away, so I bought a second in the hopes that the new keys would work with the original. The good news is, the new set of keys works with the old case. :-) But the bad news is, the new set of keys works with the old case... i.e. the keys seem to be universal, so any SecureVault can be unlocked by the same key. Either that or it was just coincidence that the new keys worked with the old lock (yeah, right). Not that I'm really worried about it--I only lock the case to comply with Kalifornia transportation laws (handguns must be stored in a locked container)--but it's something to consider if you ever need to leave the case unattended (hopefully while storing something OTHER THAN a firearm if you do!).Anyway, the new SecureVault is just as good as the original. In fact, the only difference I can detect is the exterior color; the sides are more of a dark grey than silver, which I actually prefer. The interior padding is lush, the exterior is well constructed and will survive most bumps & knocks, the locks work smoothly (and unlike other reviewers warn, you will _not_ bend the keys if used correctly). The case comes with a shoulder strap, but I have never used it so can't speak to its utility. Overall, this is a great pistol case. It's probably not as good as a Pelican (at least for air travel purposes), but then it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, either. For simple transport to/from the shooting range, this will serve your needs perfectly and comply with "locked container" laws (I am not a lawyer and do not purport to give legal advice).

Made w/custom fitting in mind.
It's what I expected, and has an option to customize I didn't expect that other owners obviously didn't take the time to discover because they were too busy being upset about solid metal throughout. Totally Missed the forest for the trees. First, this case is not meant to be Fort Knox, it's meant to carry your handgun/s from point A to B. ie the range, etc. Safely. So all these ppl disappointed cause it's not solid metal. What did you expect for $30? Really? The construction is more than adequete. If you want more, spend a couple hundred. There are no pre cutouts to fit a particular gun. But even better, the manufacturer left a clear option to take out the bottom "egg-crate" trace your pistol, and make a custom cut out that fits your weapon/s perfect. As deep as any pistol is wide, and it will insure that itor they don't budge even with a short drop. Or a toss to the couch when you get home. They won't budge. Don't drop it off a 2nd floor balcony and expect the best. It may hold up but I don't plan on testing it. I use mine for one Sig, 3 mags and an extra barrel in another caliber. It has built in locks to deter tampering. But if you leave it unattended, a screwdriver will get in fast. But it's not meant to be a portable gun safe either. So take it for what it is. A well made, nice looking carry case for you to legally transport a weapon without the need for a CWP. It's everything it should be, and probably more for $30.

Nice little box, locks are BS - would not fly with it.
Wanted to return because it's not as secure as I would like for plane travel, until I foundout there's a $10 return fee for label. Locks are a joke, could easily be picked or just broken open... But it's a nice little lock box for the money, so I will keep it for range and road trips.

Excellent Case
I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality of this case. It's true that the sidewalls of this case are made of plastic, but it is not poorly made by any stretch of the imagination. There were a few scratches in the plastic, but those were bound to happen after a week of use anyways. The case is pretty solid and the locks are decent enough to keep younger children from unhooking the latches. The insides of the case are great. Stiff enough to hold the gun in place when being carried, but not so much that it's difficult to latch the case shut. The bottom portion lifts out to reveal a smooth compartment that is handy for storing smaller tools, cleaning rods, or any paperwork. The case is just barely wide enough to hold my Ruger Mark 3 Hunter with a UTG lden Image 38mm Red Green Dot Sight mounted on the rail, and an extra couple magazines. I'm sure the case would work fine for a couple conceal carry size handguns, but don't expect to get more than that in the main compartment. All in all, it's a great case and I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Good for LUCC, not for air travel
I got this case primarily to satisfy Fed/State (CA) requirements for transportation of a firearm under Locked Unloaded Concealed Carry (LUCC) for car travel and walking around in public to/from the car/range and near places like Gun Free School Zones. It is a good case for that, and does its job well. A 6 inch barrel NEOS U22 fits with the action open with at least an inch to spare. However, I do not recommend it for air-travel, and in my opinion, should not be used for air travel for 2 reasons:1) It is too small on its own. Easily grabbed and stolen by baggage handlers, and most gun thefts on air travel occur with small cases. I'm putting my firearms in big honking hardsided luggage along with my other stuff locked as a big unit with one big "Don't touch me, TSA" lock. A small locked case within a bigger unlockable case invites theft.2) TSA guidelines states that the case be in a locked container. This is a locked container, however the TSA guidelines also state: "A locked container is defined as one that completely secures the firearm from access by anyone other than you." For that reason, TSA locks are not allowed to secure firearms. The ADG keys are the same for all their cases, or at least all the ones I tried at the store. I'm actually using my ADG rifle case key on the pistol case. If anybody else has an ADG key, they can open this case, contrary to the TSA guidline of being unlockable by anyone other than you. The rifle cases have 4 latches, 2 with the ADG key, and 2 with a ring lug to install your own locks. The 4 latch cases are fine as you can use your own lock on the 2 with ring lugs. The pistol case only has 2 latches, both with ADG locks.
