Great device
This did a great job for me. Yes, it needs to be screwed to the floor or a large sheet of plywood because ALL honey frames are not equal in balance, and this thing shakes like crazy if not bolted down. Having said that, it is an indispensable tool for a small time beekeeper. Relatively easy to clean. Price is fantastic!

It works great so far
It's the start of flow season for us, but with just four hives this extractor has been great, much better than the old ways of getting honey from the comb. It arrives almost all together, with us having to just put on the legs, adding the handle to the crank, and screwing in the "spigot" at the bottom. It would probably work better bolted to a table or floor, but I've been able to keep it fairly stable by standing on one of the leg's feet. I had it assembled in 20 minutes. My best results come from (once uncapping) spinning three frames, turning them around for some spins, then upside down, then a a final reverse. That may be overkill, but for just 20 or so frames it works great for us. Then the drawn comb can go back into the hive. I have needed to tilt it to make sure I get all the honey, but that's OK, and better than the spigot being on the bottom with potential leaks. I haven't had to clean it yet, but assume it will be easy enough. I don't leave a lot of reviews, but if you're a hobbyist like me with just a few hives, this is a good, affordable way to get your honey. I also do recommend one of the strainers that fits over a five gallon bucket to finish up the process, since there will be caps, wax, and the occasional bee in the honey. You can buy a nice plastic five gallon bucket with a lid at Home Depot for about $7, by the way.

Great value for the price.
The assembly takes only a few minutes and requires minimal tools. The edges of the legs are sharp; gloves are provided to protect your hands. The most significant negative is the honey gate. The gate is plastic, and it pops off the threads as you tighten it. I replaced it after the first use ($5 fix). The base of the legs has holes to secure it in place. If you don't secure it, it will walk away during use.

Perfect for the large hobbyist bee keeper.
Best purchase I’ve made in a while. I was doing the brush and strain method but with 10+ hives, that got impractical very fast. I should have bought this when I only had 4 hives. It already paid for itself. Super easy to set up and use. Easy to clean. I have 0 complaints. Only regret not buying it sooner. I did build my own stand for it and I’m not using the legs that came with it mostly because I wanted to be able to rig it to tilt forward when I’m draining it. I managed to get every last drop out of it just leaning it forward. No scraping the bottom needed. I also rigged a heat lamp on it so I can heat up the extractor without heating up my entire work space. I just wrapped it back in the shipping insulation and it holds the heat in perfectly to make extracting very fast and easy.

Well worth the price.
Misplaced my existing setup, needed a replacement quickly. Had it at my door in under a week, from box to spinning frames in maybe 5 minutes. Pros: main body is solid, all parts go together well. Form and function. Gear ratio seems nicer than the one it replaced, less crank at the handle for more speed in the barrel. 4 frames fit well enough, 2 brood or 4 super. Cons: legs are a bit flimsy, they are holding at the minute but don’t like the flex they are showing. I will likely get some plywood to fasten this down too before next harvest. The slots for the brood frames are very tight, could have a little more tolerance designed in. Small gripes on my part, well worth the money and should last me a while. Would buy again without hesitation.

Good for a hobbyist
I have only 2 hives so this suits me perfectly. I wanted to be able to extract on my own schedule and not rely on using friend’s bigger extractor. It’s a large apparatus so be sure you have a place to store it. It went together well and I found it easy to use. It does jiggle around a lot as you spin it, but it gets the job done. I’ve done 6 frames (3 at a time) and it did a great job. It can get tiring so I see why people with more hives need the electric extractor. The low price gave me just what I needed. It was easy to clean.

Cost effective unit
Went together easy. It worked as expected. Legs are flimsy, but others have noted that too. If you are just getting started and only have 10-20 frames per year, this is your cost effective unit.
