Exit Light
Great light, made of plastic but will fill the need just fine.

Randomly comes on
Purchased several of these in Feb 2023 for a commercial renovation project. Our electrician told us that they are extremely cheap. Recently, one has started randomly coming on; it stays on for a few seconds then goes off for a few seconds, then on again. I was going to try to contact the manufacturer for advice about what to do, but inasmuch as we no longer have the packaging I don't know who to contact. I Google Ostek, but didn't find anything. We'll probably end up having to pay an electrician to figure it out.

Prepared for a power outage
I like being prepared for power outages, that's why I find these lights so handy for illuminating the way to connect my generator in the garage. I installed one over my breaker panel to aid in the switching of power to my generator as well.Construction of the unit is ok and the lights are not extremely bright, but definitely help guide you in a time of need. They indicate a 30 minute run time - I haven't checked that out. I had an issue with the lights not testing when I first installed them. I was confused by the instructions if I had to wait 24 hours for the lights to test or was the unit defective. I reached out to the seller and they responded within hours that I should check to make sure all wires were connected inside. They were right, the plug for the battery was not attached. I don't know if I knocked that loose when installing or it came from the factory that way, but regardless, that resolved the issue and the lights now work. Thanks for their quick response, the issue was resolved right away.Installation - The worst part was getting the 120v line to where I wanted to mount it. Ideally I wanted it above the door, but would have to drill through to many 2x6's, so opted to mount it to the side of the door and above a gfi receptacle. The bracket that comes with the unit did not align with my junction box, so I just mounted the back portion of the light directly to the junction box. This gave me a tighter fit to the wall.Definitely a good addition to your home if you encounter power outages frequently. I would recommend the purchase.UPDATE - The instructions indicate to connect the battery during installation after the AC power has been installed. My bad! Who likes to read instructions....LOL

Easy to install, super energy efficient, love it...
My old hallway emergency lighting fixture’s battery died of old age. When I looked for a replacement battery, I discovered that a new battery would be $42. I looked for an alternative and found this LED Emergency Exit Lighting Fixture for less than half the price of a replacement battery. This made for an easy decision. The new emergency lighting fixture is packaged in a cardboard box and includes two wire nuts, a mounting plate, a set of short and long mounting screws, and an instruction sheet. Once mounted and connected to AC power, you need to connect the battery to the control board. The emergency lighting fixture needs to charge the internal battery for a few hours before you can do the self-test. It takes at least a full day to fully charge the battery. I tested the emergency lighting fixture to see how long it can provide emergency lighting based on a few charge cycles. After a 48-hour charge, the emergency lighting fixture provided emergency lighting for 115 minutes which exceeds the manufacture specifications of >90 minutes. The battery in this emergency lighting fixture is a 600 Ma 3.6v Ni-Cd (nickel-cadmium) battery. It would have been better if they used the more environmentally friendly NiMh (Nickel-metal hydride) battery instead of the Ni-Cd battery. I tried measuring the power consumption of the device while it was charging the battery but it draws so little power I think my test instruments were having a hard time measuring it accurately. Two of my three power meters showed zero power consumption. The third power meter showed the device was drawing 1.5 watts. So energy wise, this device draws very little current. I am very pleased with the performance of this device. It is smaller than the original unit; it exceeds the manufacturer’s specifications; and was easy to mount in place of the old unit. If you are looking for an economical LED Emergency Exit Lighting Fixture, I am sure you will be happy with this device.
