Works well for drying filament, so good I bought a second one
This is a neat little unit that does exactly what it promises. I had no trouble fitting two standard 1kg spools inside, and it runs quietly in the background without any annoying fan noise or hums. The build quality feels solid, especially for the price & nothing feels flimsy or cheap. The digital display is pretty basic, it shows humidity and the remaining drying time, but not much else. That said, it does the job, and at this price point, I wasn’t expecting anything too advanced. One small gripe: the instructions recommend propping the lid slightly open during drying to let moisture escape, but there’s no built-in way to do this securely. You have to balance the lid on the edge of the clips, which feels like a bit of an afterthought. Not a dealbreaker, just something to be aware of. All in all, it does exactly what I need it to - dries filament well, feels sturdy, and doesn’t break the bank which have all helped with the stringing and adhesion problems I was having. I’ve already ordered another one.

Works really well
Comes very well packaged looks good. It's air tight with the lid down and when drying it's stated the lid should be open on it's built in stand offs which double as closures. The controls are touch sensitive, a little over sensitive, you can set 40, 45 and 50C and the timer from 6 to 48 hours, not 6 to 12. You can see temp and relative humidity altho absolute humidity would be more useful. The base gets warm in use and the fan can't be heard in the day. If you're going to use the box to feed a printer, get 6mm threaded pneumatic connectors for 4mm teflon tube and swap out the existing ones, the nut can be reused. Also this will work way better(like all heater type driers if you out silica gel in there, propping the lid and letting the air circulate outside is a little hit and miss. I'd shut the lid and put silica in there to soak up the released moisture from the filament. Oh mine cost 40GBP it's now 60.

Stylish, Compact and Useful Filament Dryer
The Sovol filament dryer never fails to please! The design is very stylish and does not look industrial! I was drawn to this brand after reading many positive reviews from other owners. I initially bought one earlier last in 2024 and after being impressed with how it performed I decide to buy my second dryer. The price has always been marketed right and I believe it is a value for money product. The temperature range allows for heating at 40c to 50c. You can load two spools of filament rolls if they have a diameter of 60mm, if the diameter is bigger the dryer will only accommodate one filament spool! To reduce stringing, moisture levels and bed adhesion problems. I use the digital program to set the drying time and I also maintain drying during the printing process for better print results. The simplistic functionality of the dryer makes it user friendly and the clear bright LCD helps maintain visual awareness of progress from a distance. The motor sound recorded at an average of 49db. When the printers are running the fan noise is not noticeable. I particularly like the 4 filament outlet positions, this one a key point in my consideration for purchase. Overall this has been a really functional and cost effective addition to my stock and I am a very happy owner!

Better than expected
Truth is; I didn't expect too much... I thought it might be just enough to keep filament dry, rather than to actively dry "wet" filament and worst case it might be almost acceptable as a reel holder for filament in use. As it turns out it is exceptionally good as a reel holder, it dries filament well, it preheats filament while printing aiding fluidity, it's just... Good... It has a relatively small footprint on the bench, which is really nice... I'm happy, I'd buy another and I am pretty confident that you'll have results like those that I have had... Give it a go...

Don't buy the SH01. Buy the SH02.
Initially I bought the SH01 dryer. Rated it a 0 for the following reason. Set it to 50C. Took about 45mins to get there. Measured the temp inside and it's actually at 35... It eventually reached 37 but capped there. Do not buy this. So I ordered the SH02 to see if its any better as I'd heard good things. Set it to 50C and it took about 25mins to hit that. Measured the temp inside and it was 48. I'll take it, so much better. Will be returning the SH01, I would definitely recommend getting the SH02 if you actually want to dry things.

Moisture builds up and spools snag inside.
Heats up quickly and dries the filament well. However there is nowhere for the moisture to escape, no vents etc, so it just builds up inside. Also its ruined about 3/4 of my long prints. I've set up a print, left it and came back hours later to the drier on the floor and the filament snapped. (only one filament spool inside) Figured it must be a snagged, so opened a new spool and tried again, same thing happened. I happened to catch it in action and seen that the spool reel had turned diagonally inside the box and couldn't turn so the printer just pulled it over. The box also landed on the bed once and which i had to recalibrate the whole bed manually, returned this and bought a different model.

May help printing quality, but certainly doesn't dry old filaments out.
Bought this to try to revitalise some old spools of filament that had got so brittle they break between your fingers with ease. Unfortunately after a full week running, the spool is exactly the same as when I put it in there. I'm running at 50C and with desiccant in there, but it's certainly not enough to dry out a far-gone spool. I can imagine the pre-heating helps with print quality, so I'll keep it for that purpose along with storage, but it simply isn't able to 'fix' knackered filaments which have been left for months uncovered.

Sovol SH01 Dual Filament Dryer – A Solid Upgrade
The Sovol SH01 dual filament dryer is a great addition to any 3D printing setup, especially if you're working with multiple printers or moisture-sensitive materials. I previously used a Sunlu S1 dryer, which did the job, but after adding a second printer to my setup, I wanted a solution that could keep up. While a dual dryer isn’t strictly necessary if you primarily print PLA, it becomes very helpful if you regularly print with materials like PETG or TPU—as I do—especially when printing on both machines simultaneously. One of the most surprising things about the SH01 is how quiet it is. I’ve seen a number of reviews claiming it’s loud, but that hasn’t been my experience at all. It’s quieter than both of my printers and significantly quieter than my old Sunlu dryer. There's a faint fan noise, but it's comparable to a laptop fan at idle—barely noticeable. In terms of features, Sovol packed a lot of thoughtful touches into this unit. It includes built-in roller bearings for smooth filament feeding, a hygrometer to monitor humidity levels, and a simple control interface with temperature and timer settings. Compared to the Sunlu (which has fewer controls), the Sovol is more user-friendly when it comes to dialing in your desired settings. The polycarbonate cover has four filament feed openings—two on top for direct drive setups and two on the front for Bowden-style printers. These openings are necessary to let moisture escape and bring humidity down effectively. They come with gasket covers, though I find them more optional than essential. I usually leave them open during use and close them in between to help maintain low humidity levels. It does take a bit of time to heat up—expect around 20 minutes to reach 50°C due to the slightly larger internal volume. But for longer drying sessions (6+ hours), that warm-up time is negligible. In my own testing, I saw the relative humidity drop from 30% to 23% in the first hour and below 20% after about 8 hours. If I had one small request, it would be an additional front opening that allows for quick access—something that doesn’t require threading filament through it. Sometimes I start a print with filament in the dryer, then move it to a printer-mounted spool mid-print, and a quick-access opening would make that easier. It’s a minor inconvenience and likely irrelevant for most dual-dryer users, but worth noting. Final Verdict: The Sovol SH01 is a quiet, efficient, and well-designed filament dryer—especially great for setups using multiple materials or printers. It outperforms my Sunlu S1 in both usability and performance, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to level up their print quality.

Does what it's supposed to!
Prior to purchase I did some research on 3D printer filament dryers and the Sokol 3D rated fairly well especially considering the low price. The fan is reasonably quiet, controls intuitive and the display bright and easy to read. It can hold 2 standard 1kg rolls which is a bonus! Build quality is quite good. Packaging was superb. The cover has two sealable filament exit ports for spooling directly from the dryer to the printer which require looping the filament up and over the 3D printer. A little awkward but certainly not a deal breaker. I chose not to print this way and remove the spool from the dryer and mount it directly at the printer. The filament can be stored in the dryer with the ports sealed. While certainly not an air tight enclosure, I would recommend including a few packs of desiccant in the dryer if used for filament storage. Personally I use resealable baggies and desiccant packs for long term filament storage. The drying time is adjustable to a maximum of 6 hours. The drying cycle parameters can be easily changed or the cycle terminated at any time. The drying temperature is adjustable from 40 to 50C. During the drying cycle the cover should be periodically opened slightly to allow the humid air to escape. The hinges allow the cover to be propped open. All in all, a decent dryer and it does what it's supposed to! Recommended.
